Eignin
Our family owned home is a vintage (older) 1200 sq.ft. 3 bedroom split level home - built in 1958 - on a spacious one acre lot in the little village of Glenwood - the middle of everywhere you want to be in southern Alberta. As mentioned above it is not a modern home but clean and comfortable - very basic. The bathroom has been completely renovated in 2018, two bedrooms have new flooring, kitchen and dining room have new flooring and the the kitchen has new counter-tops and kitchen sink. People have commented that it is a step back in time -" like going to grandmas house."
Two bedrooms have queen beds and the other bedroom has 2 twin beds. All rooms have closets with hangers and plenty of space for hanging clothes. Extra blankets and pillows are on the closet shelf in each room.
We also have books, movies, puzzles and toys for children.
Our home is lived in parts of the year but while you are a guest, you and company are the sole occupants of the house. Some family mementos remain and family pictures hang on walls and displayed on cabinets. They will not be removed.
While I make every effort to be sure the home is clean and tidy I cannot promise or guarantee a fly or bug free home. The house is located in a country setting with horses and livestock pasturing close by and crop fields next door. These all attract insects.
The front walk coming in to the house is ramped and the house is handicap accessible. There are 6 stairs going to the upstairs. There is only one bathroom and it has been completely renovated in 2018. The tub has a shower.
The yard is large and spacious and guests are welcome to use it.
In the back of the house is a raspberry patch and fresh mint. In season you may pick a few raspberries and mint to enjoy. Please note however that the 2020 season there are no raspberries for picking. They winter killed and will not be producing this year.
Horses and cattle pasture in fields nearby. You might even get to see someone riding by on a horse.
The surrounding countryside is breathtaking with close access to some of the best hiking and horse trails in the world. You may witness beautiful sunrises, sunsets and starry night skies. It is away from the bright city lights, shopping malls and traffic jams but offers loads of quiet country living in the heart of southwest Alberta; a nice relaxing atmosphere.

Hi, I am Janet. I live in Glenwood, AB – away from bright city lights, shopping malls and traffic jams but loads of peaceful country living in the heart of southwest Alberta. Here I have some of the best views of the Rocky Mountains amidst plenty of peace and quiet. Glenwood is a close knit community where friends and neighbors look out for one another. Family is of upmost importance to me. I love living in the country and all that it has to offer. I love the beauty of the mountains around us and the peaceful surroundings. I am an active energetic kind of person and love meeting and learning about people from all walks of life. I enjoy running, camping, hiking, biking, horseback riding, home grown food, gardening, family, friends and so much more. I love to read, to create - making my own soaps, lotions and herbal salves and cooking from scratch. In my years working out of the home I have worked in public service jobs where I get to interact with people on a daily basis. Presently, I work as a municipal administrator, water treatment plant operator and Director of Emergency Management. I am a happy and content wife, mother and grandmother. I am not a wide traveler but do love to visit family, historic sites and local parks and attractions. I try to live my life with this motto - "Be happy - enjoy life and live with no regrets."
