Eyjafjallajökull volcano (that erupted 2010) is in only 20 km distance and Fagradalsfjall volcano that is now erupting (mai 2021) is only in 100 km distance.. There are many orher interesting places to visit in the neighborhood. It also is a perfect place for northernlights watching because there is no light pollution there.
