1880s Miner’s Cottage in Moonta Mines – Heritage

Step back in time at this 1880s miner’s cottage in historic Moonta Mines. Built over 140 years ago and extended in the early 1900s by the man who built many Yorke Peninsula roads, it still features the dining room, kitchen and bathroom he added. Lovingly owned for 12+ years and renovated twice, the cottage blends original stone walls and low doorways with modern comforts, a cozy wood fire, a well-equipped indoor & outdoor kitchen, and a big backyard perfect for BBQs under the dark night stars.

No roads between the property and the beach with convenient stairway access to beach at the front. Neighbouring property, Sandcastles 2 Moonta Bay may also be of interest depending on availability and your group size. Note, a security camera at Sandcastles 1 shed monitors the rear of property where property is entered and rubbish bins are stored for security.

Retreat on Nankivell is located on a quiet street in lovely Moonta Bay - only a ten minute walk to the beach, jetty and cafes. With 4 bedrooms, 2 lounge spaces, large kitchen and alfresco, it's perfect for both small and large groups! Outdoor alfresco area with BBQ and lawn for kids to play. Please be aware - the 3 spare bedrooms are locked. The code for unlocking will be provided depending on the number of guests booked. Prices will alter according to number of guests.

Beach & Golf - Yes Please! The gathering of friends and family can be a huge one with plenty of room for several families. Everyone will enjoy this centrally located place - walking distance to Port Hughes and Moonta Bay jetties with beach access nearby. Close enough to walk back for extra supplies when having a day in the sun on the sand and in the water 🏖️🥂🥤 Rinse off in an outdoor shower and chill on the balcony while watching the sunset.
