Beachfront escape

Located in a quiet rural setting along side the Kahurangi National Park, with beach access just over the road this is a great spot to base yourself for Golden Bay's adventures or relax with a book for a picnic on the beach. Its a short walk to the café and shops and all sorts of options around for activities including: kayaking, beach biking, a variety of hikes, fishing, swimming, caving and rock climbing. This unit is on the ground floor of our home. We live upstairs with our 2 children.

Studio by the beach

Everyone tells us they wished they stayed longer! Treat yourself to the peace and tranquillity of our place! The studio has everything you need for a relaxed stay. It's a large colourful room with a comfy Queen size bed. It is nestled in our large garden with just a short walk down to the beach which is great for walking , swimming or fishing! Golden Bay has so much to offer with beaches, bush-walks, cafes and lots of artisans and we are only a few minutes drive from the renowned Mussel Inn!

Ruru Family Cottage

Loose yourselves in the tranquility of the surroundings. A perfect place for a family or group of friends to relax together. Ruru is tastefully built in sustainably harvested native timbers and macrocarpa. It is tucked on a stream confluence at the foot of Kahurangi National Park and enjoys a rich "dawn chorus" and "morepork" (native owl) song in the evenings. A log fire warms you on cooler evenings and a streamside bush bath awaits you after your day walking, horse trekking or Heaphy Track.

Ocean view, farm, bush, peacocks

Take it easy and embrace the ambience and privacy of Soggy Bottom farm, situated in a beautiful location with spectacular views over farmland, sea, and across to Farewell Spit. With the property backing onto Kahurangi National Park, the house is surrounded by lawns and native bush including a small family of Peacocks. Bird lovers will enjoy the song of the native Tui and Bellbird. The beach is at the end of the drive way and is a popular spot for King fishing and white baiting. See you soon!

Kōtuku Cottage - spacious seclusion by the water

This quiet cottage is nestled amongst mature native trees in iconic Totara Avenue, 10 mins from Collingwood, and overlooking a tidal estuary and bush-clad hills, with the beach just over the road. The spacious open plan kitchen, dining, living area is private and sunny. The main bedroom has a queen bed, while the second bedroom has a queen and two singles in a bunk. Kōtuku has a wooden deck along two sides, where you can sit and enjoy the view, or you can watch the tides from a private jetty.

Overlook an orchard and beyond to the Onekaka estuary and across Golden Bay to Farewell Spit! Situated half way between Takaka and Collingwood. Enjoy the convenience of: 1 minute drive to the Mussel Inn. 3 minute drive to the beach. Come and enjoy this cosy cabin. 'Albert' the Bedford Truck spent his early days working on a potatoe farm in Timaru, middle life in Bainham on Earnest Pomeroy's dairy farm as a hay truck and moved to Weka workshop in Kaituna in 2002 and most recently Onekaka.

ParaPara River Retreat, tranquil, private, cosy

This well crafted stone cottage is close to beautiful Golden Bay bush walks, old historic gold workings, lonely beaches, the Mussel Inn, swimming holes and much more. A striking building nestled in a tranquil and private setting, makes for a relaxing stay that would suit couples and solo adventurers alike. Literally on Kahurangi National Park's doorstep! The host's partner has developed an extensive network of tracks , some easy walks and some more challenging, with great views of the bay.

The small hamlet of Puponga is at the very top end of Golden bay and just a short 2 km drive to the world famous amazing sand dunes of Wharariki Beach. surrounded by some of the best walks in New Zealand, and with plenty of hidden tropical beaches to explore, our rustic house is quite literally in the middle of utopia. fishing, beachcombing, horseback riding and hiking are all on our doorstep.our house is an old miners cottage that's been recently renovated and just oozes character.

Collingwood Birdsong Cottage

Birdsong Cottage is a small self-contained house in a private and organic forest-garden oasis. Wake to an abundance of birdlife and an inspiring dawn chorus. Enjoy a 5 minute walk to Collingwood’s Courthouse cafe, art studios, and long sandy beach. Ideal for a restful and creative retreat, or as a base to explore Golden Bay’s famous wilderness tracks and beaches. Enjoy the local Courthouse Cafe, and an evening at the popular Mussel Inn before hiking or biking the Heaphy Track.

Self-contained flat with stunning views!

Escape to a peaceful, spacious, self-contained flat with stunning views, in an isolated and spectacular location on the rugged, windswept west coast of Golden Bay. Enjoy the breathtaking views of the beautiful farm, beach and unique 'Luna Rock', and often sheep and horses grazing peacefully just beyond your bedroom and lounge windows. Access is via a winding gravel road for the last 15 mins of the drive. It is 27km West, and about 40 mins drive from Collingwood.

On a quiet small lifestile block the recently restored caravan is facing northeast with a view to mountains and sea. Collingwood and the beach is only 1 min away. Wharariki Beach and Farewell Spit about15 min. A small fully equiped kitchen, a seperate bedroom and spacious seating area awaits you inside. Your private Bathroom and Toilet is about 20m away in the main house. You can enjoy the peaceful setting in a way like camping used to be 40 years ago.
