The Treehouse: Off-grid Retreat

Shaded in a canopy of macrocarpa trees at the base of Mt Taranaki national park, The Treehouse is a grown-up childhood sanctuary. Built from recycled materials, a repurposed spiral staircase takes you up the multiple levels of The Treehouse to a secluded living space nestled between the trees. Kick back in the canopy, swoop on the swings or shoot down the slide. This self-contained treehouse is powered by renewable energy and is only a short drive to New Plymouth, local beaches and the mountain.

Entry into the apartment is via your own front door with an outside lock-box holding the key. The apartment has 2 good size bedrooms, both with wardrobes for storage. This little cottage has the benefits of staying in the country but also being close enough to pop out to town. In 12mins you can be in the center of New Plymouth or head along State Highway 45 and in 6 min you will be in the beautiful coastal beach township of Oakura. From the deck you have farm and sea views, and out the back, the mountain. There is always a horse or two to pat, and the odd cheeky chicken around. Relax in the evening on the deck and watch the sun go down.

The Black Yurt

MAX OCCUPANCY 2 Adults & 2 Children under 12 The Black Yurt is situated within Oakura. The surf beach, a number of cafes/restaurants, a pharmacy and a convenience store are within walking distance. Several hiking trails can be found nearby. Accessible via a private staircase, this yurt offers you a comfortable king-size bed, lounge area and kitchenette. The bath and shower are outdoors. A separate small building contains the toilet.

Enjoy a peaceful and rural setting in Egmont Village with stunning views of Mt Taranaki. We are two minutes from Lake Mangamahoe Walking track and Mountain Bike park, you can be in New Plymouth in ten minutes and be up North Egmont in 15 minutes. Our beautiful cottage is perfect for a couples or small families. Enjoy an amazing view of Mt Taranaki out of the bedroom windows. We provide towels, face cloths and all bed linen.
