Misty Mountain Hut - Ruapehu

Misty Mountain Hut-Ruapehu is located in the sleepy little village of Rangataua, 5 minutes distance to Mountain road going up to the Turoa skifield and Ohakune. The 1 bedroom colonial villa has a beautiful view of the mountain. Unlimited wifi and a new firebox with plenty of firewood and a heat pump ensure you are warm in winter. My favourite time here is summer for amazing walks/cycling up mountains to enjoy majestic views. Misty Mountain Hut supports local staff by paying $40/hr for cleaning.

Izzy's Place

Enjoy some time away with family and friends in this modern, new home. Warm up by the fire after a day up the mountain. Sit and enjoy a cup of coffee with spectacular mountain views. Enjoy a short walk to the iconic Carrot Park or for a famous Chocolate Eclair. Cafes and eateries are short walk or drive. If you feel like something homemade, then we have a full kitchen and BBQ facilities. Store your bikes or boards in our secure storage facilities on the property. Sit back, relax, and enjoy!

Shannon Cottage (summer)

Comfortable cosy cottage beside Mt Ruapehu. Ideal for bikers, Tongariro Crossing hikers or photographers exploring the local scenery. Independent so you can come and go at will. Full kitchen (though basic with retro fridge and no dishwasher), TV, DVDs and Chromecast, unlimited wifi, laundry, heating & aircon. One double room and one room with 2 singles (that can push together), plus a couch bed in the living room and a travel cot. From mid-May to Oct book 'Shannon Cottage (winter)' instead.

Gum Tree Haven

Our place is close to the great Tongariro National Park. It includes Mt Ruapehu for skiing or snow boarding and tramping. Walk the world famous Tongariro Crossing and discover the cycle ways, kayak the Whanganui River and explore the 'Bridge to No Where'. Try trout fishing, a game of golf or visit the Waiouru Army Museum. Enjoy our cosy home with a wood fire whilst taking in the amazing mountain and rural views. Our place is good for couples and families (with kids) or small groups.

Kowhai Haven

Bring the whole family to this new home with beautiful views of the countryside and Mt Ruapehu. There is a cycleway directly outside, easy access to the 'Manawhero River' Walking Track and a 1 minute drive to either the centre of town or the base of Mount Ruapehu. The house offers an open plan living area flowing to a large mountain facing deck. Two bathrooms with a dedicated drying area, perfect for adventure filled weekends. Off street parking for up to 2 vehicles. Linen provided.

Waireka Apartment

Waireka Apartment, situated in Ohakune in the Ruapehu District is a self contained 2 bedroom apartment each with a queen size bed, a large lounge with mountain views, kitchen and own spa pool. Spa Pool operates from 10am to 10pm Cleaning on departure is included in the rate. Thoughtful extras such as the mountain view spa pool, in-floor heating, a purpose built vented drying room. At the end of a quiet private road bordered by a horse pasture for peace and tranquility.

An inviting space, this home has been completely refreshed to make your stay relaxing and comfortable. With high natural wood ceilings and lots of light, this architecturally designed chalet makes the most of the beauty of its natural surroundings. There is space for 7 guests and the location is handy to town and the Turoa ski field road. In cold weather snuggle up with plenty of throws, cushions and a warm electric fire. No parties allowed. Absolutely no pets allowed.

Other cycle tracks nearby include Fisher Track, Bridge to Nowhere, Tramway Track and 42nd Traverse Mountain bike track. Bike hire available at Ohakune & National Park We are halfway between Whakapapa and Turoa skifields. 10minutes to Ohakune and 15 minutesNational Park Village. Visit Owhango ( 25 minutes ) for fishing, hunting and bush walks.
