The Laneway House is a compact, modern dwelling in Vancouver, with a love for simplicity and authenticity, particularly inspired by Japanese culture. The exterior features "yakisugi" (焼杉), an ancient wood preservation technique, and pine board-lined windows. The house's design draws from the Vancouver Specials typology prevalent in the area. This twist, combined with dark siding and a solitary corner window, gives the house a rustic yet unique appearance, like an outpost in a distant land.

Nestled amongst huge cedars in an artist’s garden and just half a block from the Ocean, Cedar Grove Cottage is a wonderful space for romance and rejuvenation. The Cottage is a beautiful tiny house built by a Tibetan architect, with a loft bed, pullout sofa, and kitchenette, private deck, propane griddle, outdoor counter and sink, and outdoor shower.
