Just 10 minutes from Cygnet and less than an hour from Hobart, your relaxing break awaits. Set among paddocks and wooded hills on our farm, you'll feel completely removed from the hustle and bustle of the normal every day. Watch the fairy wrens dance outside, take in the huge skies and towering eucalyptus trees, pat a goat, and if you're lucky, see the wedge-tailed eagles.

Larila Cottage

Larila (pronounced lah-ree-lah) is the aboriginal word for platypus, and our home is just a few hundred metres from one of the best places to see these beautiful little creatures. Our home is a lovingly renovated weatherboard property, retaining 1950's features characteristic of Maydena, but with all the modern conveniences you'd expect to make your stay amazing. Enjoy sun filled bedrooms and living areas with views of our beautiful private garden and the mountains beyond from every window.

Studio

Enjoy the opportunity to stay in one of Derwent Valleys Grand Designs. This spacious studio space expanded over the bottom floor of the house, offers a queen size double bed, ensuite, full kitchen, dining table and living area. National Park is located in the upper Derwent Valley. The accomodation is 5min drive to Mt Field National Park. Maydena bike park just a 15min drive up the road. There is an abundance of beautiful walks with a selection of river valleys, waterfalls and giant trees.

Entire Home - Maydena \ Mt Field \ Tyenna

You'll have my self-contained house in Fitzgerald to yourselves. It is modern and family-friendly. It's 5 minutes from the Tyenna river and a magic spot for fishing and watching Platypus. Less than 5 minutes from the Maydena Mountain Bike Park. Also MT Field and National Park are a 10 minute drive. Stay in and prepare meals or have dinner at the Mountain Bike Park (check their socials for opening times). As well, the visitors center at MT Field has a stylish and comprehensive cafe.

In the heart of our 1,500-strong merino flock, lots of walks or just watch some of our 6000 sheep walk past your cottage or in the paddocks .We have great internet , lots of DVD's in the cupboard along with free WFI.

Little Crabtree

Striking small hand made home in a paddock - a little piece of architecture in a beautiful landscape. Little Crabtree will delight with its unique take on simplicity. The property includes a private creek, occasional platypus, cheeky quolls and several million pademelons. Escape to the quiet. Tyenna Cottage is the perfect haven to enjoy the sights and sounds of the crystal-clear waters rushing and cascading over the river rocks of the ever-flowing Tyenna River. With over 200 meters of direct private, easy access river frontage you can escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and take in the true beauty of this magic location. This being the only cottage on the property you don't have to share the space with anyone.

Post House Cottage - 10 Minutes to Mount Field

Accommodation located within 10 minutes drive to the spectacular MOUNT FIELD NATIONAL PARK. Cottage was built in the early 1900's in the picturesque Derwent Valley. The cottage is set on 13 acres and is private with your own fully fenced yard. We give you your privacy but if you need us, we are close by to assist. The cottage makes a welcoming break between Hobart and Strahan. Cottage caters to children over 12 years of age only.

Kosy in Maydena

Kosy on Kallista has everything you need for an adventure away from home. It is just 400-meters from the Maydena Bike Park hub and driving distance to Lake Gordon and Lake Pedder. The house is setup for six guests, with generous rooms and quality king-single beds to ensure you're nice and refreshed for a fun day at the bike park or roaming the local walking trails.

Platypus Cottage and Farm Stay

Our Lovely cottage is close to Mt. Field National Park, 1 hour drive from Hobart, great views. You’ll love my place because Platypus Cottage is a fully self contained cottage overlooking a lake adjacent to the Jones River, in the tranquil township of Ellendale, set within a 400 acre working farm. You are welcome to walk over the farm
