Old Town Lake Retreat

Take it easy at this secluded, waterfront cabin near beautiful Magnolia Beach. Fish or launch kayaks from your front yard. This rustic property is located down a dirt road that can be very difficult to access when it rains a lot. 4x4 vehicles recommend. During dry times, the road is fine. Wildlife of all kinds are sometimes seen, many species of birds, bobcat, deer, and sometimes snakes. Alligators live in Old Town Lake, much like any body of water in South Texas. Swimming not recommended.

There is no bay access in this little neighborhood, but the public boat dock and public fishing piers are only minutes away, and the beach is just a short drive. If you just want to relax, hang out on the deck and take in the views. Enjoy an evening with live music at Dannys on the Bay or visit Port Lavaca which is only 15 minutes away.

Whooping cranes ( Oct.-April) and 400 species of birds migrate and live in the area . Deer roam freely . Fishing and boat ramps along the water. State park is a peaceful walk. Rockport a short 9 miles ,lovely drive. No hammock at this time.
