There is a pub directly opposite which at weekends you may experience some noise

It was built in the 1800’s and was originally one of two blacksmiths serving the community of Goathland. The Smithy offers you a comfortable base to visit the local area. Ideal for walking on the Coast to Coast route and a 10 minute drive to Robin Hood's Bay and Whitby with its colourful harbour, Abbey and cobbled streets. With lovely walks to inns, tearooms and restaurants on the doorstep, it is a rural haven. The ancient city of York is also just an hour’s drive. Not suitable for toddlers.

Coach House Cottage is an old Fishermans cottage above what used to be a stables and coach store (Now a dinosaur and fossil museum). Well situated, above the main street, in the lower part of Robin Hoods Bay it is moments from the beach, the dock, and the hustle and bustle of village life. The cottage is approached along cobbled alleys and/or up a series of stone steps. It is set in its own private back alley. Due to its location our much loved cottage is not for you if steps are an issue!

Upstairs is a double bedroom (WC ensuite) with sea views, and main bathroom, the top floor is the loft bedroom (double & single bed) and sea views!
