Find a Country Feel in the City with Rural Views

Sit out in the backyard then come indoors to relish leafy views from a triple-aspect living room. The apartment has a cottage feel with window boxes and wooden fittings. A hanging plant, and white linens provide a calming feeling. Awake to the songs of birds and explore our 1/2 acre of fruit trees, vegetable beds, and landscape. Yet most of San Diego’s attractions are just 5 to 10 miles away. The new kitchen is included in your space so you can prepare your own meals if desired. Cooking equipment included are a convection toaster oven, coffee maker, hot pot, a microwave, and an induction plate, pots & pans, kitchen tools, cutlery and dishes. We also provide coffee, tea, sugar, salt & pepper, cooking oil, and ice. This space is attached to our main home but you’ll have your own separate entrance and private kitchen/ living, bed and bath. We'd love to greet you and show you around when you arrive, but if we happen to miss you will have your own unique door code to get in. We’ve prepared a binder of information for guests and can help you plan for best use of your time. However if you prefer to be on your own we’re fine with that too. We have walked to downtown or to the nearest trolley, but unless you are walkers and out for exercise, you will probably want a car. There are now lots of bikes available for rent, but it will be uphill to get back to the house. Some of our guests have chosen to rely only on Uber, in which case grocery and/or meal delivery are helpful. If you have an afternoon or evening flight you are welcome to store luggage at our house after your 10 AM check out. We are in a hilly residential area with stores, restaurants and bus/ trolley access about 2 miles away, so you'll have the most flexibility if you come by car. If you choose to Uber, you can order groceries or takeout meals to be delivered.

Located in San Diego's Encanto neighborhood, our modern guest suite with private entrance will allow you to experience the city like a local, with most attractions within 15-20 minutes by car. While a vehicle is recommended to see all that San Diego has to offer, we are close to a trolley that can get you downtown and other areas. Listing sleeps up to 4 guest. After third or fourth person an extra fee of $15. dollars per person, per night will be charged, comfortable, private studio in a great neighborhood in La Mesa. Freeway close to SDSU and the heart of downtown San Diego. Some local attractions are Sea Port Village, the world famous San Diego Zoo, Sea World, Balboa Park and much more. You may also want to see Downtown La Mesa, an 8 minute drive where there are restaurants, bars, antique shops and more to explore.

While it may lack extravagant features, it does offers everything you need for a comfortable stay. Traveler beware this is a basic regular ol’ bland neighborhood (nothing to do walking distance) I do have gr8 news is, we are at close proximity (1 mile) to the freeway allowing for easy access and seamless exploration of all San Diego has to offer.
