La Orquidea which opened in May of 2005 is the only private guest house snuggled in the crater on the shores of Laguna de Apoyo. It has been designed as your "home away from home" with complete kitchen, private bath, living and dining areas. Balconies from both levels of the home provide spectacular views of the cleanest laguna in Nicaragua. The tranquil enviroment is home to countless migrating and indigenous birds. We hope you will enjoy your time relaxing here, and soaking up the sun, taking a hammock on a two hour ride to nowhere or hiking the crater your house sits in. High speed wireless network and cable TV. Separate A/C units are in each bedroom. Due to extremly high cost of electricity, the price includes A/C from 10pm to 7am. Additional A/C service is $20/day. There is a casita also located on the property that is occupied at times with shared driveway access.

A beautiful, comfortable, clean, spacious, modern house in an amazing natural setting. Feels secluded but you are near to town and near many touristical attractions. As the house is located at +550 mts above sea level. It has the perfect climate. Chilly at night (you might want to use thin blanket and wear a vest) and during the day you are perfectly of in shorts and a t-shirts without being hot or cold ( about 22 degrees Celsius or 72 Fahrenheit).
