The Miller Hale is the perfect base for exploring, as it is located: -15 min from South Point -20 min from Punalu'u Beach -40 min from Volcanoes National Park -65 miles from Kona Airport -70 miles from Hilo Airport Drive times vary and a good part of the highway is 35 miles per hour. Quiet and peaceful. 1 hour 15 min from Kona and same from Hilo. Best to get supplies in Kona or Hilo as no grocery stores in Na'alehu. Is 40 minutes to the Volcano Ntl. Park and 15 min to the Punaluu Black Sand Beach, 15 min to South Point and Green Sands Beach. There is no Wi-Fi ~ cell service works great in the area.

Just 45 min. to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park main entrance, and less than 10 minutes to the hiking trails and picnic areas of the HVNP "Kahuku Unit." Other nearby attractions include South Point, Punalu'u Black Sand Beach (sea turtles) & the famous Green Sand Beach at Mahana Bay. Steep driveway requires vehicle with good ground clearance!

Our Retreat is a labor of our love and was built as such. A getaway to relax, hike the nearby beaches, forests, and volcanoes and to simply enjoy life. Our place is a peaceful spot completely off the grid in nature. It is 8 miles to Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park. You’ll love our place because of the location, the ambiance, and the outdoor space. Our goal was to bring the outdoors in and the indoors outside. Our place is good for couples and solo adventurers.

Kanaloa

Kanaloa (God of the Sea creatures) over looks the Ocean, this room is 140 sq ft, with a queen bed, small table with chairs, no kitchen, large window to view Milky Way, sunrises, all while laying in bed. Kanaloa has its own private composting toilet 25’ from the room, bathroom sink, beach shower. A glamping room for short stays for those wanting a lower nightly price, clean, comfortable, getaway, close to Green Sand Beach and other popular place.

Our little slice of paradise is located in Ocean View Hawaii half way between Kona and Hilo. A beautiful place to enjoy the island flow free from crowds and filled with peace. We have views of south point the most southern point of The United States. At night the you can experience millions of twinkling stars as we are in one of the special places on earth free of light pollution allowing views of the stars rarely seen with the naked eye
