Hegranes guesthouse on a farm

We would like to welcome you to come and stay in our lovely guesthouse at our farm in the heart of Skagafjordur. Here you can relax and enjoy your evening in our hot tub, take a walk to visit our calm and gentle horses, we also own a beautiful lake and we are "forest farmers" i.e. we plant 10.000 trees each year and we can highly recommend a stroll through our young forest to the lake. There will be sheep, chicken, cats and dogs around and next to the house there is a beautiful old church:)

The house is spacious, with an open kitchen and beautiful countryside living room. It's located on private land with incredible views in all directions. The drive from Reykjavík is 1.5 hours and is very close to many popular tourist attractions such as Skógafoss, Seljalandsfoss, Thorsmork, Westman Islands and 1 hour 30 minutes from Gullfoss and Geysir. We also have high speed wifi and laundry facilities on the premises. Lastly, there is a veranda surrounding 3 sides of the property.

The cottage is located in a beautiful quiet place, with two bedrooms. Perfect for 4 persons. The view is stunning to mountains, glaciers and volcanoes. Eyjafjallajökull volcano (that erupted 2010) is in only 20 km distance and Fagradalsfjall volcano that is now erupting (mai 2021) is only in 100 km distance.. There are many orher interesting places to visit in the neighborhood. It also is a perfect place for northernlights watching because there is no light pollution there.

The property is a modern 2-bedroom, 2 bathroom, exclusively designed by Icelandic architects. The house is 93 m2, with a fully equipped kitchen and a private terrace with mountain views and a private hot tub. It includes free WiFI, TV, floor heating, as well as a washing machine and a tumble dryer. It is perfectly situated in the well-known Golden Circle, Geysir, Gullfoss Waterfall and Thingvellir National Park, and is only 1.2 miles from the famous landmark Kerið Crater.

Fully equipped kitchen and 50" google tv. Charming retreat offers both comfort, adventure and beautiful nature all around.

The Black Barn

Guests have access to the entire apartment. You need a car, there are no public transport to our place. There is a key box located on the post on the patio wall. There are extra blankets in the drawers located in the sleep loft. If we can help in any way, like giving some advice and recommendations regarding the stay in Iceland you are welcome to ask us. Cute cottage on a farm in the golden circle. The house accommodates up to 2 persons. It has 160 cm wide bed in the bedroom and in the living room there is a sofa. The cottage has microwave oven, fridge and cooking plates. Bathroom with bathtub and outside a private patio. Location is only 17 minutes drive from Geysir and 3 km distance from swimming pool, shop, gas station, bank and restaurant. 90 km from the capital, Reykjavik.

Surrounded by peaceful nature on the countryside of East Iceland these spacious and cozy cottages offer, for example, view over the Lagarfljot River and Dyrfjöll mountain. Around the place is a great wild-bird life over the summertime and here you can take a walk in the nature and enjoy some alone-time. Each cottage has a fully equipped kitchen and a furnished terrace with BBQ. Egilsstadir town center is just 30 km away.
