The Post Office | Luxury Wilderness Retreat

The Post Office transports you to another time and place, our heritage-listed accomodation is the heart of the beautiful town of Waratah. Opposite the Waratah Waterfall, The Post Office offers views of Mount Pearce and the expansive Happy Valley, which stretches out into the Tarkine wilderness. Waratah is nestled in a wilderness-rich pocket of Tasmania's North West and is the perfect base from which to explore the Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park and the ancient Tarkine wilderness.

"Castella" Apartment 2 on Hiscutt Park

"Castella" is a self-contained, sunny unit in the picturesque seaside village of Penguin. Beside the main house there is a separate fully equipped, fresh and modern unit which sleeps 2 in a queen size bed. Tea and coffee is provided. The inviting deck overlooks the leafy Hiscutt Park with water views out to the Bass Strait. It is an easy short 5 minute walk to the town centre. Holiday makers staying at Penguin are well positioned for day trips to Cradle Mt, Stanley, Launceston and Burnie.

The Top Paddock

Welcome to the top paddock! This is glamping with a side of real camping in the Tasmanian bush. Goats and sheep will stroll around and you have over 20 acres all to yourself to explore. We're located up a gravel road on the north west coast, you won't find any other tourists here. Soak in the wood fired tub, under the blackwood tree. Cosy up to the wood fire, roasting marshmallows in your star Gazer yurt. A comfy queen bed and a backyard of adventure, its a Tasmanian version of luxury camping.

Penguin Farm Retreat - Spa Cottage

Amazing Sea and Mountain Views - watch the sunset from the 6 seater spa. Truly relaxing !! Self contained 2 story Cottage in a stunning 4 acre hobby farm, under 5 mins from the town of Penguin, at the base of the Mt Dial to Cradle Mountain range. The cottage has everything in place. Full kitchen, class touches, private deck & garden looking out to sea, and gentle farm sounds from Llamas, sheep & other and animals! A lovely farm experience, but still close to town & many local attractions.

Wynyard apartment "Eirini"

Light filled contemporary space with Mediterranean touches. Two king sized single beds and extra day bed for third guest (price is for two people third bed will incur an extra $40). Private courtyard. Fully equipped kitchen and peaceful bright ambience with double glazed windows overlooking the Gutteridge Gardens and Inglis River. Easy short access to town which has coffee shops good pub meals and fresh fish and chips from the Wynyard Wharf A meal could be provided by prior arrangement.

Silvery Birch Guest Apartment: Private self contained unit. Large open room comprising kitchenette, Double bed, Lounge area, Heat Pump & Electric heater. Kitchen includes Microwave, Fridge, Toaster, Fry-pan, cutlery and crockery. Lounge area outlooks onto large garden area. Quiet area, ten minutes to Burnie or Pengiun shops etc. En suite bathroom includes large shower, Basin and toilet suite. Five minute walk to the river. Two minute walk to the bush. Quiet spot in a pretty place.

The minimum charge $140 is for 1 guest. Additional guests will attract a charge of $45 per head, and bedrooms will be made available as needed. We only ever have 1 booking at a time, no sharing with other families or individuals. We live on site and are happy to help, your accommodation is segregated and totally private. NO parties, no smoking, please be respectful of neighbours. Fake tan & hair dye use PROHIBITED. Fully equipped kitchen, plus washing machine & dryer.

'Mistover' Farm Cottage & Galloway Stud

'Mistover' is a 32 hectare property with pasture, bushland, creeks, dams and plenty of space for your pets to run! It is home to Galloway cattle and long term resident Jonesy, the English Pointer, who loves visitors! The accommodation is a two storey, 2 bedroom, self-contained stone cottage with open fire place and private balcony. 'Mistover' is situated along the Murchison Highway, 20 kms from Burnie/Wynyard Airport and is on the doorstep of the Tarkine Wilderness!

The Wombat Burrow - Waratah (for Cradle Mountain)

Get back to nature in our lovely, comfortable and private 2 bedroom villa, decorated in an industrial wilderness decor and with all the comforts of home so you can make the most of your stay. Perfectly located only 50m to the lake and playground and within easy walking distance to everything Waratah has to offer, including museum, pub, cafe and service station. A scenic 40 minute drive to Cradle Mountain and 45 minutes to Burnie and the main shopping district.

Rose's Garden Studio

Roses Garden Studio is a sophisticated and very private self-contained space. Tariff includes breakfast provisions and a well equipped sideboard kitchenette with fridge, microwave, coffee maker, toaster and kettle. A 10 min walk to the CBD, beachside restaurants and foreshore BBQ area. A 7 min drive to the hospital and university campus. Well located for daytrips in the region. Also a great space for laptop work (WiFi and Smart TV). Laundry by request.
