Welcome to 'Tales of 1943' A property where 3-generations of my family were raised and today has been converted & renovated with modern and stylish interiors and amenities for you to experience. Located in the heart of Shillong city, this independent Assam-type home has been around for more than 80 years and is perfect for anyone looking for an escape. With timber-framed walls, slanting roofs, wooden floors, and a cozy fireplace in each room, this home is the perfect encapsulation of Shillong.

Centrally located in the capital city of Shillong offering a peaceful environment, perfect for getaways/long stays/workations. The property is conveniently located near Pantaloons and is 0.5 km (5 mins walk) away from Laitumkhrah which is one of the main hubs of Shillong. The room is spacious (16x14) with attached bath and a kitchen. It is well equipped with a smart TV, Wi-Fi, geyser and other basic amenities. Parking is available within the compound. Located in the Nongrimmaw locality, the homestay is only a 10 minute walk from central Laitumkhrah. Police Bazaar is about 3.5km away. Private entry included and a balcony area with a view overlooking the local neighborhood. The setup includes 2 bedrooms with one double sized bed each, a living room with couch and sofa, a fairly large kitchen with dining table + chairs as well as basic amenities provided, one Western style toilet with adjoined bathroom and an adjacent Indian style toilet.

This lovely small rooftop studio apartment is on the 3rd floor and has a 32" Smart TV, and basic kitchen items for you to prepare your own breakfast. There is also a patio and is ideal for young people who have no problem climbing stairs. Situated in one of the best residential and commercial area of Shillong, we are only a 5 minutes walk away from from the bustling Laitumkhrah main road where you can find all kinds of shops and some of the best cafes, bistros, and restaurants in town.

The room has Twin Beds to accommodate 2 people and an extra diwan bed for lounging. The house is located 3 km from the city centre. Transport, ATMs cafes bars restaurants, shopping and other amenities are within easy reach. i Backroads provide for good walks from this place.
