The cottage has central heating so is lovely and warm, and is a great home from home. Enjoy a peaceful break on our organic working farm, set amid the stunning scenery of Dumfries and Galloway, ideally situated for easy access to local attractions. All guests welcome. The Sea Cubby, Private Holiday Lodge, Portling.

The Sea Cubby is a unique wee holiday lodge overlooking the Solway Firth. It is perched just above the waves with the most beautiful views across Portling Bay to the white sands of Merse Head nature reserve. The Lodge is not in a holiday park it stands alone with it's own private driveway, parking and garden. It’s so quiet, a retreat to escape and relax, by sitting watching and listening to the waves. The Lodge has a large glass roofed deck. Well behaved dogs are considered, please ask first.

You can explore beautiful beaches, great small towns, rolling hills or just enjoy looking out the window. You'll hear owls, see hares and red kites and get a taste of this undiscovered corner of Scotland.

At '235' you will have your own private space to enjoy day or night. The comfortable sofa bed can be made up ready for your arrival or left as a sofa for you to relax. Staying in the centre of town, close to takeaways, a brewery, galleries, shops, park and Carlingwalk Loch. The local area boasts stunning beaches, beautiful country walks & for mountain bikers the 7 Stanes world class mountain biking centres.

Charming chalet in peaceful rural location.

Our chalet is in our large, well managed garden. While it is near our house and we are happy to chat, we always respect peoples privacy. This is a very peaceful place where you can sit outside and watch the flames of the fire pit at night or stay in and have a cosy evening. Our neighbours are all of the four legged variety so some countryside noises are to be expected but the cows love to come and greet you at the wall. Parking space in garden

We are between 10/30 mins from 3 of the 7stanes cycling trails and 6 miles from several beaches or hills for walking. You are 5 mins drive away from the market town of Castle Douglas.
