Get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and relax. Bach with amazing panoramic views over Cook Strait & Palliser Bay. Rate is not for the whole house, please enter the correct number of people when booking. (Christmas, New Years & Big 3 bookings must be booked direct, due to restrictions we encounter). The Lighthouse

The Lighthouse is a unique, romantic place on the South Coast. Stunning views, opposite a swimming and dog beach plus rock pools, it’s great for walks. With a comfy double bed and steep stairs, it’s private and quiet - brilliant on a sunny day, cosy in a storm. There's a fantastic cafe around the corner; shops are 10 minutes’ walk away. The main Island Bay bus stop is nearby with regular buses. It's a 9 minute drive to the airport and 15 minutes to downtown Wellington. Small dogs on request.

The View

On a plateau overlooking the Ruamahanga river valley is our cosy two bedroom fully self contained cottage. The views are jaw dropping, backdropped by the Tararua Ranges. On the river flats below, summer crops form a patchwork of different colours. Above, the big sky can be an endless blue or filled with rolling banks of cloud and truly spectacular sunsets. At night the wondrous canopy of stars is why the region is an official International Dark Sky Reserve. It’s all utterly peaceful.

Enjoy a stay on our Martinborough vineyard. The cottage is nestled amongst the vines and offers a peaceful retreat from the city. We are 8 kilometres from the centre of Martinborough heading south on the way to Lake Ferry. You can enjoy a leisurely wine tasting at our cellar door with David who is always happy to talk wine. We will also transport you to Martinborough so that you can spend the day investigating local wineries or dine at one of the town's fine restaurants.

Baring Head Assistant Lightkeeper's Cottage

Stay in a beautifully restored former Assistant Lighthouse Keeper's cottage with wonderful views over Cook Strait toward the Kaikōura Ranges. It features vintage styling, three bedrooms and a modern kitchen and bathroom. Please note that this Airbnb accommodation is subject to cancellation at any time between January and April due to potential fire season risks. We will provide as much notice as possible and will provide a refund if cancelled.
