Originally designed by renowned South African architect Kate Otten, the home reflects her distinctive philosophy of designing with the landscape rather than imposing upon it. A full-height glass façade fills the space with natural light and opens onto uninterrupted bush and valley views, blurring the boundaries between inside and out. Shengwedzi - exclusive retreat

Shengwedzi is a charming 10 acre weekend hideaway situated at the foot of the northern side of the Magaliesberg in the Buffelspoort Valley, close to the Easterkloof and Tonquani Gorge. The original thatched roofed farmhouse, built in the 1920's, with its three surrounding cottages and rondavel, offer a perfect escape far from the pressures of city life for the exclusive enjoyment of a single group. Shengwedzi offers adults and children a memorable experience in a magical setting.

River House at Utopia

Welcome to our comfortable off-the-grid self catering cabin nestled in the heart of the Magaliesburg mountains. Spend a peaceful retreat in a globally awarded UNESCO biosphere next to the Upper Tonquani Gorge. Relax with your feet in the Sterkstroom river that is situated less than 50 metres away from the cabin. Whether you seek adventure or simply want to relax, our location offers a plethora of activities to delight in, both within our estate and the surrounding areas.

Cosy Cottage

Take a well deserved rest at our cosy cottage which is totally off the grid. On the ground floor you will find a full kitchen with a gas stove/oven and a big fridge/freezer as well as dining table and a lounge suit. The bathroom is on the ground floor. Take the steep chairs upstairs where you will find one bedroom with double bed and closeable door and on the other side, the two three quarters beds. Under the balcony you will find an outdoor picnic table and a braai.
