Það sem verður gert

I love to walk in an empty city, I love to see the city that is getting up and see the first step of the day. This walk is the perfect early-morning introduction to Florence for "morning people", the jet-lagged, or anyone who is so excited to be in the Renaissance capital that they just can't sleep in!

Galileo was the father of modern science, and his studies focused on astronomy, physics, and engineering during the 1500s and 1600s. This walk follows Galileo's footsteps through the city, touching on a number of important locations, and finishes in time for breakfast...

We will see locations where Galileo is honored or where important events in his life occurred, exploring the UNESCO-listed center of Florence along an "urban hike" route inspired by one of Italy's most important scientists.
Other things to note
An easy route, approximately 6 kilometers along paved streets.

Hi! I'm Alessandro, a certified Outdoor Guide and head of Inspiring Tuscany Tour.

I am a lover of all things outdoors and even in the center of Florence, I manage to find the most beautiful parks and open-air spaces where I can stretch my legs for a bit of "urban hiking". But don't worry...the pace of my walks and rides is always leisurely, and I'm never in too much of a hurry to stop for a glass of wine along the way!

My other AirBnB Experiences :

★ Renaissance Gardens of Florence Walk
★ Florence's Renaissance Hills Walk
★ E-Bike Ride on the Renaissance Ring

and more to come...

Allessandro did a great job showing me the important sites related to Galileo in Florence. The early hour allowed me to see the city without all the other tourists and distractions- it felt calmer that during the day. He showed the locations in a logical order, and as we walked he was able to answer all my questions. We stopped for a cafe in a beautiful piazza, and had the place to ourselves. He was also willing to provide info on other sites/ activities. The early morning is a great time to see the city, very worthwhile!

Alessandro's walk in the early morning was a wonderful introduction to Florence, the city's history, and its link with Galileo. I learned quite a lot and found Alessandro to be easy-going and earnest. He also shared excellent home-made treats, and I felt a real warmth with that personal touch. He told me he also has Inspiring Tuscany Tours, which is on Facebook and another travel site -- I will definitely check this out next time I am in Italy, as it looks like some absolutely fabulous explorations of the countryside and ocean.

This was a very pleasant walk thru the centre of Florence in the early morning when there was very little foot traffic. Seeing the city waking up was lovely. Alessandro was a pleasant guide.

Three things: 1) The walk is early in the morning, before the crowds, so you all will have Florence for yourselves. 2) Having a scientist tell stories about the "father of modern science", felt like being immersed in a good Ted Talk. And 3) It didn't hurt that Alessandro brought coffee and home-made biscotti for us to enjoy. All around great walk.

Alessandro took us on a walk around Florence to see the places that effected Galileo's life and legacy. We chatted about what was important about Galileo's work as we stood in the places where he also lived and worked, and it was fun to imagine Galileo in the same places we were (separated only by a bit of time!). The tour helped make history come a bit more alive.

We hired Alessandro for both the Galileo tour and the walk of Boboli and Bardini gardens. Alessandro offered unique perspectives on Galileo's significance and how the gardens tell the story of Florence's history.
