For a very pretty ocean view go to Whytecliff Park and walk the perimeter of the park on the trail that hugs the coastline. If the tide is out, you can even scramble over rocks to a cool little rocky outcrop off the beach. Seals, eagles and otters.

This is a fun marketplace that is surrounded by art boutiques and ateliers. Great shopping for unique gifts. Though many tourists sit for lunch in the restaurant area (there is a good soup place) I would suggest heading out of the market and waiting in line for delicious fish tacos at Go Fish.

There is a steam clock that seems to captivate a lot of tourists. But apart from that, it's a lot of fun to wander the old cobblestone streets. I go to Gastown for the window-shopping. Lots of high end furniture stores, the famous Fluevog shoe store, thrift shopping and secondhand books. If you are in Gastown, go to Purebread at 159 W Hastings Street for one of the best bakeries in town. Across the street is a spin studio to immediately burn off all the calories! At night this place is hopping with music venues and throngs of partiers. We like Tacofino for lunches, Ask for Luigi (a bit outside of the shopping area but worth the walk and wait!) and Chambar for restaurants.
