Chantal art-directed and did the designs for one of our shows. My favorite was the leather-like corset for my solo act. I love the tiny-waist look, and Chantal’s corsets are very strong. The items at her shop on rue Saint-Honoré are displayed as if each piece is one-of-a-kind, like a single bra hanging in a corner. And the boutique smells amazing. Many of the pieces she created for Crazy Horse’s show are available in her shop, including the garter belts that look like Scottish skirts that we wore in the opening number. Chantal is a master in playing with gender by mixing masculine and feminine codes, and the result is absolutely sexy!

The outside of the store is hard to miss because of the bright red door. Inside, everything is gold. Cadolle has worked with Crazy Horse for 30 years and designed the beautifully fitting corsets for the famous number “Red Shoes.” If you just want high-quality underwear, this is your spot. Their styles are quite classic and hug your body just right. Founder Herminie Cadolle is credited with inventing the bra, which she first exhibited at the Universal Exhibition of 1889. It was originally called the corselet-gorge.

Everything is pink and girly and fluffy at this atelier, even the dressing room. It’s a true boudoir, with sheer curtains, pink paisley carpet, and vintage dressing tables. Fifi’s designs have a very specific retro-pinup look, which I personally love. She works with lots of very deep reds, bows, and lace to make the loveliest little teddies. Fifi herself is usually there to offer personalized help. If she is, take advantage and get a made-to-measure service. You’ll have it forever.

This Parisian brand does classic everyday styles. They use a lot of black in their interesting, slightly cheeky designs like the Entrevue Secrète bra, which almost looks like a butterfly on your chest. Their knickers give a lovely round shape to your body, and the stockings are nice, too. Some things they’ll teach you to prolong the life-span of your stockings: Check your hands for hangnails before putting them on. Roll them into a donut and step in gently before pulling them up slowly. Spraying them with hairspray helps them stay in place and minimizes chances of a run. And always hand-wash.

The sixth floor of this department store is a great place to start if you’re not quite sure what brands are best for your shape. The selection is large, and the dressing rooms are always very well looked after by knowledgeable saleswomen who will help you find the proper style and fit. Plus, they have chairs for your boyfriend or spouse to wait on.

This red and gold shop is quite small, but cozy with soft lighting, fresh flowers, and glass cabinets filled with lingerie. Louise won a prestigious prize for being the best corset maker in France. She will take your measurements and show you cuts to best accentuate your body. A lingerie set starts at €150, and they even do half-sizes! The shop is by appointment only and feels very exclusive and special. You can also sign up for a class where you can learn how to make a piece yourself.

The lingerie is lovely, but the swimwear at this boutique is spectacular. They have so many high-quality suits for all body shapes. Sometimes I even wear a one-piece as a top. It holds you really well without a bra! Big boobs? They have suits with sturdy straps. Round bum? They have suits to keep it in proportion. Worried about your stomach? They have tankinis. The dressing rooms provide plenty of room to stand back and look at yourself.
