Great place for a relaxing dinner. Sit at the bar and converse with the knowledgeable and friendly bar tenders, or get a table in the dimly lit dining space. There is also a great rooftop deck for drinks and apps during the summer.

The best cookie shop in Seattle! There are long lines after dinner, but it's right around the corner from my place, so pop-in during the afternoon to avoid the lines. My favorites are the smores-based cookie and the jalapeño chocolate chip ... amazing! Must see.

Wonderful brunch location. It's usually packed, but you can enjoy a drink and dinner at the bar, if you're on a tight timeline. CK rotates its menu based on various region of the world, so the menu is always changing!

My favorite coffee shop - it's a hidden gem. This is a local favorite for Cap Hill dwellers. It's very European in both style and offerings. It has a special something that you'll understand once you visit. Great food, coffee, and drinks!

Smith has great food and wonderful drinks. It's a bit noisy for a sit down meal, but the drinks and apps are worth it. I enjoy popping-in for a drink, at least (especially during happy hour!).

If you're looking for a cool, trendy place to catch a sports game, this is the spot. It's open layout but modern finishes represent the new Seattle style of design. There are many very large TV signs throughout. Great drinks!

A great city beach to visit. It's often packed during summer, but you might get lucky and snag a spot mid-afternoon before the after-work rush. There are a number of great eateries just up the street, too.

A super cute, not-well-known, park located close by (it's a few blocks north of my street). The park offers two wonderful downhill paths that lead to a pedestrian only street. Enjoy a nice walk or run through this park - it's a local favorite.

One of the coolest parks in Seattle! It features a walking path that circles the park. It's pretty hill, so be prepared. There's a wonderful view atop the tower located in the middle of the park - worth the trek up the stairs! It's open during normal business hours. Also check out the Seattle Art Museum adjacent to the small lake in the center of the park. Catch wonderful views of the Puget Sound (and Space Needle) in front of the museum! If you're there around sunset, you might get supremely lucky.

There's a wonderful view atop the tower located in the middle of the park - worth the trek up the stairs! It's open during normal business hours. Also check out the Seattle Art Museum adjacent to the small lake in the center of the park. Catch wonderful views of the Puget Sound (and Space Needle) in front of the museum! If you're there around sunset, you might get supremely lucky.
A stunning park. A must see if you have the time! I recommend hiking (two loop walking paths available). Talk a walk around the park and then head down to the beach. You'll forget you're in the middle of a large city - it's that scenic and peaceful.

One of the best sunset views in the city. It's so picturesque and yet so overlooked by tourists. Benchs line a grass lawn that craddles the moored sailboats. You can even see Mt. Rainier, if you look south. This view overlooks Lake Washington - the huge lake on the east side of Seattle.

324 Lake Washington BlvdOne of the best sunset views in the city. It's so picturesque and yet so overlooked by tourists. Benchs line a grass lawn that craddles the moored sailboats. Just walking up and down Broadway will give you a great sense of the classic Seattle Grunge culture. Referenced in the famous Sir-Mix-a-Lot song "Posse on Broadway," it's the center of Capitol Hill. Notice the passersby, the local shops, eateries, and record shops. Start north of Madison Ave and walk up to Roy. Take a left on Roy and explore Harvard Ave E. and Boylston. The Capitol Hill street car runs up and down Broadway if you prefer not to walk.
