An experience (an expensive one at that)!

Want to try Minibar but don’t have $275-plus to spend? Reserve a spot at José Andrés’s adjoining “cocktail lab,” which mixes more than 100 à la carte cocktails and snacks in a funky, modernist space.

AMAZING cocktails. Definitely pricey, but it is all about the experience and there is no other place quite like this in DC. The presentation of the cocktails is what makes this fun. Treat yourself! Kind of a speakesy vibe- must make a reservation and you have to be buzzed into the door.

At José Andrés’ cocktail lab in Penn Quarter, the sister to the exclusive Minibar dining experience, the drinks are works of art that don't take themselves too seriously. The current cocktail flight, inspired by nostalgia, is stocked with creations like Saturday Morning Cartoons, made with brandy, Angostura cereal, caramelized milk, and vanilla, all presented with props like a View-Master or Pokemon cards. You don't have to opt for the flight: there are 100 cocktails on the menu and bartenders can dream something up on the spot. Book a reservation well in advance for a fancy, but fun, D.C. night out.

Very expensive and reservations required, but delicious FOOD and drinks. (The tuna tartar is to die for!)
