It is an amazing place to go with kids. The Barcelona Zoo is a hundred-year-old institution with the mission of preserving endangered species, biodiversity research and education. Its facilities are located in the Parc de la Ciutadella, where occupy a surface area of 13.5 hectares. Opened in 1892, the Zoo has one of the most important collections of animals in Europe. Visitors have the opportunity to see up close about 2,200 specimens corresponding to more than 315 species. Within the Zoological Park are also more than a thousand trees of 96 different species, some with more than one hundred years. The Zoo of Barcelona has a great offer of services and activities that allow the visitor to spend an unforgettable day with family.
