Anywhere along Puako Beach Drive. Best snorkeling and whale watching on the Big Island in warm waters and lots of turtles to swim with.

This is a short 10 min drive from Hale Keala. There are so many lava rock tide pools all along the bay. Parking is along the road near any of the Shoreline Access points or down towards the end of the dead end road is a good place with shade. Not much sand, usually has turtles swimming around and good snorkeling.

Good place to spot whales, and to interact with them if you're extremely lucky. I like to walk along the ocean from the end of Puako Drive, heading south.
