Beautiful place to go hiking/mountain biking and it's so close, it'll only take a few minutes to get there! There's a waterfall at the end of the three miles of easy to moderate trails that are nestled under oak, alder and sycamore trees. Chumash Indians once lived here as did Matthew Keller. In…

My favorite hiking trail in Malibu! It's about a 5-6 mile loop.

The fact that this canyon has water running through it allows hikers to enjoy flora not found in most of the Santa Monica mountains.

“Having taken over Malibu's beloved breakfast spot Coogie's, which closed after 25 years, restaurateur Nate Heydari had some big shoes to fill. And fill them he did with a more farm-to-table approach to all-day fare, a full bar and that quintessential laid-back beach style both inside and out. Proudly boasting local farm purveyors for ingredients, the menu veers from California chia and acai bowls, omelets and huevos rancheros for breakfast, to small plates like kebabs, penne Bolognese, plus big salads, pizzas and burgers for dinner. It's super-popular with the locals.”

“This beautiful beachfront park is a local gem of a secret. There are people who've lived here alll their lives that don't know about it. It's easy to get to and access. It's a great alternative to the sand. It offers picturesque views of the ocean and lagoon, beautifully manicured gardens, clean bathrooms, and plenty of quiet shade on a sunny day. For a very interesting docent-led tour of the historic home, check the website for times. It costs less than $10/person and it's really worth it to visit inside the home and learn a lot about local history. You can take a picnic inside and sit in any part of the gardens you like. On occasion parts of the property are closed to the public for weddings and private events.”
