The castle of Villemonteix is both powerful and elegant, a typical example of the end of the middle Ages with its central keep, its round path and its pepperbox towers. Elegant thanks to the discreet exterior fittings of the 18th century, the carved gargoyles and dovecote. The current owners gave life to the castle after a long period of abandonment. The castle houses period furniture, woodwork, paintings, porcelain (Sèvres, Berry, Limoges)... as well as an exceptional double Pleyel by Béatrice de Camondo and a rich collection of tapestries from the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries by Aubusson, Felletin, Flanders, Beauvais and Gobelins.

This lovely Chateau is just a stones throw from the cottage and is open from Easter to November with guided tours.

un très beau château que les propriétaires rénovent depuis des années. ils ont également doté l'intérieur de très belles tapisseries.
