It's a lovely taverna situated in the village of Kaina. The name means " fireplace " and when you get in you can easily see why. The food here is excellent, the people very nice with a high standard of hospitality and the big " father " is watching over the place. If you come here a Saturday night there will be live music and if you are lucky " father " will ask his sons to remove some tables and he will then dance and invite you to join in the dance. In the end he will kneel down and with his mouth pick up a glass of red wine from the floor to drink. How to get there : In Kokkino Chorio go up against Drapanos to the left after the grave yard. In Drapanos you turn right to Kefalas and follow the road for quite a while, After about 3 kilometres you see a new road to the right leading you round Kefalas and it's narrow streets. If you count carefully you will get to 32 bends, getting a little seasick at the end. You ask yourself why, is it to protect an old olive tree or a certain building, but the only true story you end up with is this : all the farmers up there sat down and closely divided the expropriation money from EU among themselves and made sure that they all gave a piece of land each. At the end head for Vamos. At the square in Vamos you turn right towards Chania. 300 metres down this road you go left for Kaina. Follow this road and after about 3 kilometers you will bump into the signs for Parasia to the left. You can oark up along the taverna to the left.

Very tasty greek traditional cuisine. Favourites dishes were chicken with honey and mustard, zucchini balls (kolokithokeftedes in greek), etc.

Excellent food, and on a Saturday night, live Rebetiko music, which invariable ends up in some spontaneous Greek dancing
