If you plan to hike in the national forest San Jacinto Wilderness Area (all the hikes up Devils Slide Trail and above) you must register at the Ranger Station in town first to obtain a free Wilderness Permit. They can answer questions regarding recommended hikes given the current weather conditions etc. Helpful folks

If you will be parking at Humber Park, Lake Hemet, Lake Fulmor or Fuller Mill Creek, you will need to pick up an Adventure Pass for your vehicle. They’re available in both daily ($5) and annual ($30) version

Head to the ranger station for all of the hiking information you will need during your stay. They offer trail maps, forest adventure passes, trail passes and all of the essentials for a great time in the San Jacinto Mountains.
