Because they have wonderful ice cream, tremendous selection, amazingly low prices and the same old fashioned booths that have been there forever. Closed on Sundays.

Can you eat the entire banana split? If so, you'll be one of the few! Established in Jefferson City in 1934 this ice cream parlor is local favorite! A few dollars gets you a LOT of some of the best ice cream in the area. It gets quite busy in summer time, but don't worry, the line goes fast and the staff is used to handling the volume.

A landmark in mid-Missouri, no trip to the area is complete without a stop at Central Dairy on Madison Street in Jefferson City to pick up a wonderful ice cream treat! It's the real deal. Check their website for hours though before you make the trip - they close early most evenings.
