Essentials

Fresh produce, excellent street food from corners of the globe, events often within. A real city success story. Always visit a destination's market...
Quite simply the best value accommodation in central Hull: for those on a budget, those visiting the city and Old Town in particular, groups - or those just not wanting to be fleeced by the modern faceless chains creeping in. Call us biased if you like! Coffees, beers, bike hire, a welcome refuge on Market Place...

What a year! Noel Gallagher and his High Flying Birds just been through, Richard Ashcroft. Too many to mention. A simply brilliant indoor gig and event venue. And a really nice little 8 minute walk from here.

A wonderful throwback street from centuries passed, home to several excellent museums: including the Wilberforce, Street Life and Hull and East Riding - all free to visit. And at night a popular place to enjoy good food and fine ales: in the likes of Ye Olde Black Boy (Hull's oldest pub), The Lion and Key, and Hitchcocks (vegetarian).

Home to Hull Kingston Rovers. Smaller than their cross city rivals in black and white. The Robins claim to fame was winning the infamous 1980 Challenge Cup Final against their bitter rivals. But that was a long time ago...

It's by the bracing North Sea. But when all said and done, a lovely little seaside resort just 15 or so miles from our place. If you've time, you should really make some to get to the sea. Hornsea Mere's there too - Yorkshire's biggest natural lake.

Getting on a little now, though less than ten minutes away. The scene of many an ice hockey face off, and open to all for ice skating, and the odd other event. A Hull leisure institution.

Spurn Point is a place not many people ever get to, but most people have seen on a map. To the East of Hull, on the North side of the Humber: where North Sea meets tidal estuary. Popular with bird watchers and naturalists, it also has a recently opened visitor centre on it's approach. A beautiful oasis of calm away from the big city lights...

Modern theatre at it's best. A popular venue in the ten years since opening here, after the famous inception days as the Spring Street Theatre it replaced many years before.

Shopping

Loud, busy, modern shopping, adjacent to transport interchange. Great for those liking the chain stores, a quick coffee or bite, and a long hours supermarket.
Quirky, as shopping centres go. Built in the middle of the old Princes Dock. Decent big name outlet stores up top. And also a cinema up there too somewhere, sometimes showing independent films.
