Food Scene
The food here is fresh, authentic and absolutely delicious. The falafel is a generous meal, and the lamb in pita is amazing. The also have Turkish coffee!
Open 11am-5pm so it's mostly a lunch spot, although we do like it for afternoon coffee or smoothies as well. 5 minutes walk from the house

Las Olas' restaurant is right on the beach, and I always recommend it for breakfast because the daytime chef is a Tica. They make a real Costa Rican breakfast, great empanadas and good coffee. Plus, the prices are more reasonable than at some of the other places along that strip.

Hotel Las Olas
Las Olas' restaurant is right on the beach, and I always recommend it for breakfast because the daytime chef is a Tica. They make a real Costa Rican breakfast, great empanadas and good coffee. Plus, the prices are more reasonable than at some of the other places along that strip.

If you're in a pinch and don't feel like going far, a pizza from Pizza Pata is a decent option. While it's not an AMAZING pizza, it's always hot and fresh, and it's only a 2-minute walk from the house.

Delicious Indonesian and Thai food, in a fabulous setting - the restaurant is on a raised patio in the middle of tall, beautiful trees. Service can be slow during busy times but the food is usually worth the wait. Try going for an early (6pm) or late (9pm) dinner if you prefer a quicker meal. Otherwise, sit back and enjoy the surroundings. In Jaco, about 10 mins drive from the house.

Real Italian-style thin crust pizza, better than any other place we have tried in Jaco so far. You can choose your toppings or get one of their 6 classics. There is plenty of seating, but no table service - order at the pizza prep counter at the back, drinks/payment is at the cashier.

The freshness of the fish and quality of the food is great here, even if it's not really authentic Japanese sushi... more of a fusion deal. But the place itself is beautiful - small but open, just up the street from the beach, a nice outdoor seating arrangement. Drinks are yummy too. A good spot for a first stop of drinks/tapas around Jaco. We've gone early with the kids and they were very accommodating.

But the place itself is beautiful - small but open, just up the street from the beach, a nice outdoor seating arrangement. Drinks are yummy too. A good spot for a first stop of drinks/tapas around Jaco. We've gone early with the kids and they were very accommodating.

It's a great lunch spot if you spend the day in Jaco, it's only a few steps from the beach. Nothing fancy but definitely authentic.

Much more than just a bakery - they make yummy breakfasts and lunches as well. Their bread and baked goods are delicious - they have Argentinian empanadas that are quite tasty and good coffee too. It's a good spot for a quick bite or to pick something up on the way home.

Green Room is a delicious restaurant, but it's also a good option for going out because they have live music every night. Great local and touring acts, comedy nights, open mic nights and more. Good drink specials too.
