One of our favorite ramen places in Tokoname. Located near the pottery walk, 'Kamon Tanaka Kai' really puts a lot of effort into serving beautifully presented bowls of ramen. We recommend the 'Shiokaze' (Salty wind) ramen with a topping of shrimp as well as pork. Opens from 6:30pm, closed on Sundays.

When you enter the restaurant, just raise your fingers indicating the number of servings you require. That's all they serve. If you can't finish the pork, they provide plastic doggy bags for you to take it home.

'Kyotei Ramen' Located close to Tokoname station, Kyotei Ramen is the place to go if you like a lot of Charsiu pork in your ramen. The chunks of simmered pork are so huge it's almost a struggle to finish it off. In addition, they have other traditional dishes in their warm and welcoming family run restaurant. *Incidentally, the word Kyotei refers to the local boat race arena in Tokoname. Apparently this restaurant is a popular place for punters on their way to and from the arena, where you can place bets on your favorite boat racer, as you would with horse racing.

Flight of Dreams is a newly opened complex located a few minutes walk from the main terminal at Chubu International Airport. It offers a Seattle-themed choice of restaurants and cafes, with an area to get an insight in Boeing and the 787 Dreamliner aircraft. We recommend this place as a good choice if you've just arrived at the airport and need a decent meal or some time to kill before flying out. Most restaurants close before 10pm.

'Shuraku-en Park' If you'd like to see a giant Buddha but don't plan on going to Nara or Kamakura, then Shuraku-en park has an equally large and impressive statue. Little known to people outside this area, the park itself is good for a nice stroll and of course its star attraction. It's a nice place to go to during the cherry blossom and autumn leaves seasons.
