If you want a lovely place to eat Italian food this is such a wonderful restaurant. It's my absolute favorite for more upscale dining. The patio seating is the best, it has heaters and is enclosed. They also do lunch.

Absolutely great Italian food, pizzas and salads are definitely upper crust! Beautiful atmosphere, great for a date with your loved one.

This is a local deli that makes fresh sandwiches to order and also a small market, sort of gourmet. It is close by and has a cute outdoor sitting area. We pack picnics from here to go to the beach and vineyards.

Just down the street and locally owned. I really like the Black Horse Coffee Shops, There is one close by at 796 Foothill. The one on Broad Street has a fireplace that is nice to sit near.

Just down the street... Donut Cafe. I don't eat donuts but this is close by and has very high rating from every person we know that goes there. They say they are very fresh and absolutely delicious. Coffee also available.

Sweet little place with great atmosphere. The food is so good and the outdoor seating is a delight to my soul. It is right on the Bob Jones bike trail, so bring a bike and have lunch.

Beachfront dining, outdoor seating is the best in the area. Great breakfast! Favorite breakfast place. In my opinion, the indoor seating can be noisy if full of people, not great for conversing.

I relish leisurely lunch or coffee & dessert here in the courtyard that lends itself to a fine experience. Coffee is served in a french press and it's truly delicious,enough for two. A bit expensive.

Old fashioned diner in Port San Luis which I'm nuts about. Totally has character and after a bike ride I find it excellent to sit and enjoy breakfast on patio. Really good food.

Totally the best coffee house near us. It has a flair and ambiance that I especially enjoy when I am doing a creative project. This space lends itself to a special experience, the thick wood table surfaces make it extra special. The decor is totally unique and wonderful...you really get a sense of well-being having your coffee here. Also, the vintage style ceramic cups for "in-house" service are part of a fabulous experience, so I stay and enjoy it! They also have gorgeous pastries and such made on premises in their back bakery.

Trendy little spot at the end of the pier in Port San Luis. I love eating outside overlooking the water at the countertop with stools. Lots of sea life all around. Really entertaining for kids.

Outstanding breakfast pastries and lunch sandwiches. The bread is baked by the amazing, world-class owner/baker Dan Berkeland, who I think makes the best bread in the county. I enjoy sitting outside and then having a cup of their delicious coffee. This café is located in the historic Carlton Hotel in Atascadero, CA.

Charming!! If your travels take you up the 101 to Paso Robles than Joes Place is a super cute local's favorite! It is a converted house place with EXCELLENT service. Breakfast is great and lunch is great too. Save some room for fresh baked stuff or take a roll to go.

If you need to wash laundry this is a very nice laundromat close by. I go here to have laundry ironed and to wash comforters. The owners really keeps it nice.

If you are a lover of Jesus you will love this little church. The design of the building and views are lovely. It's on the other side of Bishop's Peak. The Bible sermons and music are topnotch.

This is one of the prettiest wineries in the entire central coast. The view from the tasting room is spectacular. Take a picnic lunch from Lincoln Market and sit and enjoy it with their wine.

Inside Cal Poly, this arboretum is one of the best kept secrets in SLO. Open 8am - 5pm Mon - Sat, closed Sun, We also enjoy picnics here and a nap. Take a blanket and pillow.

There is a lovely boardwalk in Cambria along the ocean and if you decide to have lunch on this same trip go to Robin's in the little town. The back patio has magical feel to it. Bring a warm sweater!

If you like to walk and bike this is an absolutely wonderful trail. It is a divided two-way path of asphalt. You can take an abbreviated walk starting at Woodstone's and walk to the beach near the golf course right into Avila.

Simply stunning scenery, ocean and mountains. Walk along the bluff trail or go up Valencia Peak. I love this place and it's so close! I ride my bike there and have picnics...epic!

Trail is fabulous. The views from the top are so wonderful and inspiring. Stair-step trail is very well maintained by Conservation Corp and has wooded sections.

This is a great hike that is rolling hills. You take the same path for Bishop's Peak but fork before going up the mountain. Easier to hike than Bishop's. I walk here often.

Darling beach front. There is a children's park right in front of the beach with lovely public bathrooms. Great place to sit out on the beach with a towel and umbrella. We are happy to loan beach chairs, umbrella and ice chest.

This is an epic walking park next to the ocean in Cambria! It is wheel chair friendly if you you are needing an easy nature walk and will knock your socks off on a clear day!!

The Farmer's Market is every Thursday 6-9pm along Higuera downtown. Incredible fresh veggies and lots of food, the BBQ is especially excellent. Not much seating to eat, we often sit on the curb.
