Fire Island is just a few blocks from you during your stay. It is one of the best bakeries in the state and makes the most wonderful pastries. The line is always long, which demonstrates the goodness inside.

New Sagaya City Market is the neighborhood fresh market. Not only does it have the freshest organic produce and seafood, it also hosts the best coffee shop in town -- Kaladi Brother's. Fresh pastries and cafe style food offer a great place to meet friends throughout the day! This market is just two blocks from the condo.

Ginger is modern asian-fusion restaurant. I enjoy meeting friends in the bar area, which also has small tables facing the street. Delicious appetizers, great mixed drinks and a really fun atmosphere. The decor is contemporary and acoustics good for hosting a larger group. I take clients to the dining side of the restaurant for a different experience. You'll love the food, but it's also a great place to meet friend prior to a night on the town.

This brewery is fairly new -- established in 2016. However, there was a brewery there before. The location is fantastic. With a table on the roof, you will have the most beautiful view of the inlet. On a sunny day in the summer, you won't want to leave the rooftop deck. Be sure to make reservations or call in advance because the deck is busy during the summer months.

Wild Scoops is an Alaskan microcreamery that utilizes Alaskan ingredients. Their small batches of ice creams are fresh, adventurous and wildly delicious. Because they create small batches, get there early to ensure you get your choice of flavors. Don't be afraid to ask for samples, but expect a line. Their shop is open year-round at 429 E St.

Drinks & Nightlife

Bernies Bungalow is located on D Street and 7th Avenue. There are several areas inside the bar that play different music. There's an outside area that often has a band and there is a DJ upstairs on most nights. This is one of the busiest bars in town during the weekends. You'll find people of all ages here. It really starts to pick up around 11pm and you'll definitely find a line outside on Friday and Saturday nights.

Pioneer Bar is located on 4th Avenue. It is a fun hole-in-the-wall bar. Typically it is a younger crowd (20's and 30's), but as with any bar in Alaska, you'll find people of all ages. There are pool tables and dancing. This is a fun place on the weekends.

Perfect mix of dive bar, champagne and oysters! They have a great selection of oysters and a wide variety of champagnes. This is a local spot and I emphasize "dive bar," because you shouldn't be surprised that it's small and dark. I meet my girlfriends here often and love it.

Flat Top Mountain | The quintessential day hike, Flattop offers routes for all abilities, and throws in mountain vistas even before you've arrived at the trailhead. Flattop is widely regarded as the most climbed mountain in Alaska. And while the trail to the summit is rocky and steep, there are a number of loop trails below perfect for beginners or those with physical limitations. In fact, many sightseeing tours of the city include a stop at Glen Alps for views of the city and the mountains.
