This is kick ass brewery with great food. Have the Cubano sandwich. It's as good as anything you'll find in Miami. Really fantastic gumbo as well. Can't go wrong here and only a couple blocks away. One of the fun things about it is it's community seating and they have an entire bookshelf of board games to play

Haven't had the food here yet but the reviews are fantastic. It seems that it's a little pricey. However, the drinks are spectacular. The bartenders all honed their cocktail crafting in some of the best bars in Detroit, New York and L.A.

This is the first bar in Detroit that really focused on craft cocktails. Have some truffle popcorn and you can get some charcuterie, but it's really about the drinks. Can't go wrong here.

This is in an alley that's right by Standby (also a good spot) but the Skip is much more laid back and has more space too. That, and the food there from either the cart or behind the bar is amazing. The former Exec Chef at Standby now runs the food at the Skip and it's really spectacular.

The Guardian Building is one of the coolest buildings in Detroit. It is according to Wikipedia "A bold example of art deco architecture." That's putting it lightly. Go spend some time int he lobby, have a coffee and their's a Detroit gift shop there too. Beautiful building.

Designed by the the same architects that designed Central Park in New York city, this is the island playground of Detroit. Take a long bike ride, a run or just drive around the island and check out the historic sites, fountains, aquarium, etc. found there.

This is great for a long walk, run or bike ride. Highly recommend taking a bike down the riverwalk to this. Then you can end up in Eastern Market

Also, there are pre-marinated meats for tacos, grab a bag of tamales, and stock up anything else you'd need for a stay in the D. Some of the freshest and most economical produce in Detroit as well.
