Their burgers are the best! The menu offerings are dynamic and the ambiance allows you to choose how nice or casual you want your dinner to be.

Delicous authentic Tex-Mex cuisine at this Freebird's "build your own" style restaurant. It is hidden underneath a medical plaza off the METRO rail Museum District Station. I wouldn't expect normal packed crowds here.

This is a fun and eccentric atmosphere where you can enjoy a good cocktail, a cheap glass of wine, and an authentic American-Italian meal. Also a great brunch spot. Prices aren't outrageous. Staff is outrageously friendly. This is an LGBTQ owned and operated establishment, SO FUN!

Wherever you end up at last call will most likely have a food truck nearby, but if you aren't ready for your night to end and would like some time to wind down, this is a Houston late night favorite.

Absolutely a must-go-to spot if you are curious to have an authentic Tex-Mex meal. This will require an Uber, but you might as well foot it and walk around the beautiful WWII aged Heights neighborhood. The magnificent Heights Hike & Bike trail can be accessed at 7th & Courtland.

This is the best late night pizza you will find. This is a good bet for a late night eat near your AirBnB if you happen to be spending your night off of Downtown Main Street.

Spotting a drag queen or two or running into boxing legends (no, seriously, I rant into Evander Holyfield here) isn't unheard of at this 24-hr NY style Deli. Whether you nee d a place to go after the party, or want a quiet lunch, this is a good place to be.

Tucked away behind Westheimer and Montrose is the original "gayborhood" of Houston. Have an Uber drop you off at JR's Bar and Grill and explore the LGBTQ friendly nightlife Houston has to offer along/beside Pacific street. Stretching from W. Dallas to the Museum District, enjoy a multitude of food choices along Montrose.

If you are into nightlife, sports bar scenes, bar foods, authentic Tex-Mex, all of the above, BUT you want to avoid crowds, then hop on the METRO Rail OR have your Uber drop you off at Ninfa's or Woodrow's in the up and coming EaDo district. EaDo (at Walker & St. Emmanuel St.) generally attracts soccer and baseball crowds from Minute Maid and BBVA Compass, so you shouldn't see much of a football crowd here.

Parks & Nature

This is a fun park in the middle of downtown that I enjoy mostly in the evening. On a normal day you can enjoy garden walks, a play park for children, or dinner and drinks at The Grove nearby. There will be a 9-day festival preceding the Superbowl at Discovery Green. Like most places, it is only a short Uber drive away from your AirBNB: http://www.discoverygreen.com/superbowllive

This is another GRADE A urban park in Houston. I would not recommend it over Buffalo Bayou Park, but I will say it was my "go-to" park when Bufffalo Bayou Park was being renovated. Also, for the kids there are some nice fountains and even HOUSTON ZOO!

Shopping

Rice Village is a good place to get some shopping done and grab a drink and a good bite to eat. It is centered between your AirBNB and NRG Stadium, so go ahead and have your Uber drop you off here if you don't feel like sitting in all that Superbowl traffic! Namely iconic places in Rice Village are: THE CHOCOLATE BAR (local homemade chocolate treats) SWEET PARIS (French breakfast) Mi Luna (tapas) TORCHY'S TACOS

Entertainment & Activities

Have you ever wondered what it's like to walk into an old-timey type theater you see in a movie? The ROAKS Theater definitely still has that charm. If you are an independent film lover you will love this theater which also hosts a FULLY STOCKED BAR.

The Yards will be hosting the opening events preceding Super Bowl Sunday. Bruno Mars and Taylor Swift are both expected in concert. You can also get your live action physical game on with some of the rec activities planned here. You could walk here (1.8 miles) via Sabine Pass to Sawyer Street, which will probably be a heck of a lot cheaper than Uber.

Sightseeing

The AirBNB is within walking distance from this newly renovated and nationally ranked park. Booking here is a true WIN for the park location alone. Walk here, have brunch, rent bikes from the B-Cycle at Sabine pass, pedal, and enjoy both nature and skyline sceneries of the park. Buy tickets to the Buffalo Bayou Water Cistern a day in advance to enjoy some unique Houston history and architecture.
