If you like Indian food, Cinnamon Spice is great for dinning in or a take away. Their food is fresh and the service is good. We often have a take away on a Saturday night.

There is a great small cafe next to the car park, where you can sit outside before having a walk around the Cannon Hall grounds. At Cannon Hall there is a farm for the children, a larger dine in restaurant, a garden centre and a walled garden. Perfect for a few hours.

From the outside, you can't miss Bank view Cafe (or known as the Spotty Cafe) as it's covered in big red spots. Pop inside to see if you can discover why... Bank View is a good place for lunch, teas, coffees or cakes, before or after walking around Langsett.

Sightseeing

Penistone is a historic town and hosts a beautiful church and some individual Victorian shops. Walk on the Trans Pennine Trail and loop around Penistone. The Penistone Show is an annual agricultural show that draws in crowds from across the county. It is thought to be the biggest one-day show in Yorkshire and is held on the second Saturday in September. As well as ordinary agricultural categories for sheep, cows, goats, and chickens entries are received in horticulture, handicraft, show jumping, pigeons, dogs, photography and many more categories. People come from near and far for The Penistone Show. It's a great day out and well worth traveling for.

Ladybower is one of our favourites. High or low, there is some great walking and hiking. You can hire bikes and cycle all the way around on good paths. The scenery is stunning! Walk up to Derwent Edge on a clear day for breathtaking views over Ladybower and beyond. On Derwent Edge you will find extraordinary rock formations with names such as the The Salt Cellar, Hurkling Stones, Coach and Horses and Cakes of Bread. The walk up to Derwent edge starts at Cutthroat Bridge (named after a man was found there with is throat cut in 1635!).
