The most hands on dolphin park you will visit. The show is very well done, informative and interactive. Dolphins & Seals give free kisses, though you can't get close for a photo as the in house photographer takes the prime spot. You can go into the water with the Dolphins for a cuddle and play at an extra cost. Though it looks a bit dated from the front, you will thoroughly enjoy your time spent here. Well worth the trip!

You can literally walk from Jacaranda Villa! This factory is a "blast from the past". It is still family owned and operating as it did in 1980. That is what makes it so great ! Apart from being able to see trays and trays of honeycomb being manufactured, you can watch how various products are coated with carob. The staff willingly describe the processes. There is a display gallery with many stories of the history of the district, the owners and their ancestors. There is also a dvd showing. A number of products are available for tasting .... a great sales technique that will leave you with no choice but to buy some of the wonderful products. Just make sure to buy enough of the carab honeybomb because there will be a fight over the last piece! A great place for both adults and children

Nature at its best. Butterflies of all species will fly around you while you walk through this small yet fascinating butterfly house. You will most likely be shown how to attract the Butterflies to land on you which both children and adults love. Great little eatery and gift shop in such a peaceful and serene environment. Go for the scones! The entrance price is $17.50 per person.

When visiting Coffs Harbour, a great day out is always found at the Harbourside Markets on your way to the Coffs Harbour marina. Great produce, plants and a wonderful collection of stalls offering unique wares. The food is amazing, so many cuisines, fresh and delicious.. These markets are small but have a good vibe, quality and location in Coffs Harbour. The markets in Belingen are bigger and better but this market is still great and right on the Marina, with great food. On every Sunday morning until around 2 pm.

Parks & Nature

Wow! and double wow! Never have I been more impressed with a facility that not only encapsulates the wonders of nature but also provides a wilderness experience so easily. The Dorrigo Rain Forest Centre is world class. Here you can learn about our precious natural heritage in clear well designed displays and then experience first hand stunning views from the Sky Walk. a few metres away. Depending on fitness short easy walks in the forest are available or a 6 kilometre trek to waterfalls. I took the lyrebird circuit about a kilometre and saw lots of birds in the sacred forest. A graded path, well signed with informative displays. I was grateful for the seats along the track! An absolute must.

A beautiful Botanical garden. The Garden covers 20 hectares of Crown Land and is bounded on three sides by Coffs Creek, a wide mangrove-lined, tidal estuary. The Garden was designed to feature natural forest, rare and endangered Australian species, and exotic plants from other sub-tropical regions of the world. Officially opened in 1988, the Garden continues to expand, with the newest addition being a Japanese Garden featuring a lake, arched bridge and teahouse. There are five kilometres of well-made paths and boardwalks for visitors to explore this lovely botanic garden. **Give yourself a treat and have the Devonshire tea at the Garden Cafe: Cafe Hours: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday: 10.00am - 2.30pm.

We tend to take this walk in the late afternoon but early morning is also great. Parking next to the restaurant Latitude 30 and ascending to the north wall, the walk along the top offers wonderful views back to Park beach and the marina. At sunset the sky lights up and a red glow spreads from above the Korora headland south to Sawtell. From the break wall you will gain access ot the walking trail to the Island. Along the island's spine is a paved walkway (1km return, 30min) with interpretive signs providing information about the Muttonbirds and views of the adjacent coast. The walk is medium grade, involves a bit of uphill walking but on well paved surfaces and is well worth the effort. At the eastern end, perched above the surf crashing over the rock platforms and pools below, is a lookout platform providing an uninterrupted view of the Solitary Islands Marine Park with green clad islands and visiting humpback whales (June till September) If in Coffs Harbour remember to do this walk as you wont regret it.

Do the Solitary Islands Coastal Walk. It is a good path which goes across beaches and then over the top of headlands. Reasonably strenuous and a consistent sea breeze during summer. Nice to be able to access the walk from various points, so that different parts of the walk can be done on different visits. Incredible scenery. Take plenty of water and snacks as there are not really shops along the walk. Highly recommended.

This is a great viewing platform that will provide you with Cafe stunning views over the city of Coffs Harbour and out to the sea. You will simply love the drive up, with small avocado and banana stalls along the way. Actually I bought the best tasting avocados of my life in one of these stalls! Arts & Culture

Set in a well maintained WWII communications bunker where Australia's arguably greatest Prime minister worked, this place has been filled with some of the best art works in the nation. A general focus on Cartoon styled art but much much more, a great place for all. We've visited the Bunker Cartoon Gallery on a number of occasions and have always enjoyed it. Some exhibitions have appealed to us more than others - the recent Bald Archies and David Rowe exhibitions were fabulous and the annual Marnie Yeates Nature Photography Competition is always superb. Even if the works on display are not entirely your cup of tea, the sense of history inside the bunker and the informative video on its past are worthwhile experiences. There are usually plenty of activities for children. Only a café is missing! The Bunker Gallery can be tricky to find but it is definitely worth persevering.

This regional museum is only two years old. Where it was located flooded over the years so council bought and refurbished the original courthouse and police station. It was $5 to have a look but for only having 5 rooms we were there quite a while. The volunteers were passionate about their museum and one gentleman told us a great deal about the early history and characters of Coffs Harbour. There was a very interesting book on the building and rebuilding of the break walls at the Jetty. There were also some great shot videos on local history. This museum is still developing and is well worth the visit.

Top Beaches

With beautiful beaches and excellent surf, Coffs Harbour is a great destination for a beach holiday on the mid North Coast of NSW. From tranquil sheltered coves to challenging surf breaks, you’ll find beaches to suit families and adventure seekers. Relax on the soft sand and marvel at the breathtaking views of the Solitary Islands Marine Park, a haven for dolphins, turtles and humpback whales on their annual migration. Many of the beaches have amenities such as showers and toilets. There are enticing cafes and restaurants near some beaches, such as Sawtell Beach, Jetty Beach and Woolgoolga Beach. Picnic tables and barbecue facilities are in parks and reserves adjacent to a number of beaches, including: Jetty Beach Park Beach Diggers Beach Moonee Beach Emerald Beach
What a gorgeous town and beach to visit. This is one of the only North facing beaches up the coast. So this means that the beach is beautiful and calm. Great for little ones. Nice foreshore with BBQ facilities, playgrounds etc. Check out my foodie suggestions on where to eat. A day trip to Woolgoolga is a must!

You can’t head to Coffs Harbour and not visit some of the beautiful beaches in the area. Even during the winter months, the water stays warm enough for swimming, if you’re brave. Just north of the marina in Coffs Harbour, look for the beach marked “Park Beach South Dog Beach” on Google. There’s plenty of parking, plus it’s great to combine with a visit to the jetty and perhaps coffee from Salute Jetty.

Just south is Jetty Beach, named after the heritage-listed timber jetty that juts out into the harbour. This beach has gentle waves, and you can walk across the breakwater to Muttonbird Island for marvellous views from the Eastern Side lookout. Jetty Beach is a protected beach which is popular with both locals and tourists alike, especially families. There are new accessible facilities of a beach mat and beach wheelchairs. The beach is also now patrolled in New South Wales Summer holidays. Behind Jetty Beach you will find the Jetty Foreshores Park. Idyllic beaches, cool cafes and a magnificent national park make Sawtell a perfect beachside escape on the beautiful Coffs Coast. Enjoy kayaking, fishing, surfing and bushwalking and visit Bongil Bongil National Park to meet resident koalas. Whale watching is also popular from the headlands. Sawtell Memorial Rock Pool is beautifully sited on the south side of the Bonville Headland, this pool offers protection from the strong rip that runs out past the pool and a safe swimming environment. While Australia has many war memorial public pools, it is rare to find an ocean pool dedicated as a war memorial.

The perfect day out for families! We have just LOVED this area as a family, taking all our little kids, grandparents, aunts and uncles and floating down the river to the little bridge. Top memories for sure! It's one of the most popular spots with locals and is a perfect spot for a picnic, day out, BBQ with family, kid's birthday party or just a good old coffee with a view. Bring blow up floating toys, kayaks and stand up paddleboards for the water, and backyard cricket and balls for the grassy areas. There are kayaks and paddleboards available for hire on weekends and holiday periods. Boambee Creek Reserve is also a great spot to bring your dogs (leashed) and if you head across the train bridge, you can let your dogs off the leash for a swim and play.
