This is a very close spot to drive, bike, or walk to the top and see a ton of beautiful surroundings. You can see almost everything worthwhile from here, and it is one of the most beautiful overlooks around. Given the proximity, you can't afford to miss this on a nice day!

A beautiful waterfall to visit primarily in the summer time. I thought for sure this was the inspiration for the cover art of My Morning Jacket's "Waterfall" album, but it was not. It is still a magnificent sight in any case. It is a pretty easy morning hike. I definitely recommend getting there before noon so you can get a good parking spot. Otherwise, it fills up pretty quickly. It's also more of like a walk than a hike I would say, but it is still beautiful!

A beautiful waterfall to visit primarily in the summer time. I thought for sure this was the inspiration for the cover art of My Morning Jacket's "Waterfall" album, but it was not. It is still a magnificent sight in any case. It is a pretty easy morning hike. I definitely recommend getting there before noon so you can get a good parking spot. Otherwise, it fills up pretty quickly. It's also more of like a walk than a hike I would say, but it is still beautiful!

Another iconic area around Bend. Simply amazing. A bit of a drive, but absolutely worth it especially if you are a climber. It is also a really great place to hike. Misery Ridge can be tough, but the views at the top are some of the best in Central Oregon!

One of the other ski areas nearby if you want a slightly more peaceful and less populated experience than Mt. Bachelor. This place is smaller, but it offers a more personal and intimate experience than the larger resorts.

Drake park is my favorite park in Bend. It is such a nice place to simply walk around and spend time with someone (or a group) you care about and have a conversation. During summer, they have a small gathering of live music with beer and snacks. It's a great place to be!

This is probably the most popular trail in the area, but I really enjoyed it. It's a great place for beginners to learn! I rode for like 7 miles, and I saw only a handful of people. It is super popular, but you can find times where it is not busy particularly in the mornings.

You have not visited Bend unless you have floated the river. It is a past time of this town, and it is a great way to spend time in this awesome town! Rent a float, park your car at Drake Park or Riverbend and take the shuttle to or from. Don't walk around the rapids! Ride the lightning!

This is a great place to see a movie in a "boutique" kind of movie theater. They often show local films (sometimes showing only once!) you can't see anywhere else as well.

This is a really cool place to explore. There are secret rooms which are fun to find, and you can grab a beer while you explore this place. Very unique. Highly recommended to stop by and just see for yourself what it is!

Another great place to get coffee. I really like their AeroPress coffee. I had a nice, jittery conversation with a stranger about hockey in Bend here. I love hockey, and I love coffee, so it was a great day.

This is the best cold brew I have ever had in my life. I got the Nitro cold brew, so I am not sure if that is what the difference was, but it was absolutely fantastic.

Absolutely fantastic food. It is like a Mexican-American fusion, and it is one of the only places to get good cheese dip for those who know and understand the secrets of destiny. They make their margaritas mix from scratch, and you can taste the difference. Their service is also incredible. One of my favorite places to eat delicious num-nums in Bend :D

Delicious food and beer right on the Deschutes river cutting through town. The first place I ever drank draft beer in Bend and had fish and chips, and I go back all the time.

I recommend their Philly cheese steak pizza. It is so good. Their beer is also top-notch, but that goes without saying in Bend. So good.

This is the place I went once when I Googled "Bend Late Night Food," and it is super good. The pretzel was fantastic, and the sandwiches are the bomb. I think they are one of the few places that serves food until midnight.

While 10 Barrel might have the best individual pizza in my opinion, this is the best overall pizza in Bend. You can't go wrong.

Delicious tacos. Not as good as Taqueria San Luis in Nashville, but who are we kidding? Those are the greatest tacos ever. If you have found some better, please let me know. I will fly somewhere just to eat the tac tacs.
