Update 10/2018 - go soon, the family that owns the building and the business is squabbling and it may go out of business in the next few months.

You've read about...just go. Just don't go during the Sat/Sun am rush - not worth *that* wait. Bread is phenomenal, pastries are amazing, coffees excellent (I don't love their croissant...too big, ignores the laws of physics, and not for the better)

Our favorite scone in the whole city (blueberry-lemon, since you asked). Don't recommend the cupcakes...but their rugelach rocks. Great place to grab a fast scone & coffee breakfast when you are on the fly.

Spicy means SPICY here, so go mild if you are spice averse (and everyone else who wasn't born into a spicy-food culture should prolly just go medium). Saved room for dessert? Try A Buttercup Dessert House a few blocks down Valencia for Taiwanese-inspired sweets.

Have a car, want Dim Sum? This is the *the* restaurant that revolutionized and upleveled Dim Sum for the whole Bay Area...and it's still fabulous. Easier to get into in the post-pandemic world...and TBH, it's closer than Chinatown and there is ample free parking in their lot.
