Angelokastro (Castle of the Angel-Castel Sant'Angelo) is a Byzantine castle. It is located at the top of the highest peak of the island's shoreline in the northwest coast near Palaiokastritsa and built on particularly precipitous and rocky terrain. It stands 1,000 ft (305 m) on a steep cliff above the sea and surveys the City of Corfu and the mountains of mainland Greece to the southeast and a wide area of Corfu toward the northeast and northwest. Angelokastro is one of the most important fortified complexes of Corfu. It was an acropolis which surveyed the region all the way to the southern Adriatic and presented a formidable strategic vantage point to the occupant of the castle.

One of the most impressive fortification works in Europe. It is the first thing to see as the ferry approaches Corfu. It stands on the eastern side of the town, on a rocky peninsula that gets into the sea. This fortress was built to protect the town from enemies and pirates. On the eastern side of the fortress, there is a flatland, used today for cultural events in summer. In this flat square, there is the church of Saint George, built by the Venetians as an ancient temple. This is actually the only church in Greece that has been constructed according to the Doric style. The highest point of the fortress needs about 20 minutes walking up to a tall clock tower.

Liston in Spianada Square is in a complex of multi-storeyed buildings of French architecture, with characteristic arcades and lanterns. It began to be built by the French Imperials after 1807 and is a typical sample of that era. Strongly evokes the "Rue de Rivoli" of Paris, built around the same period. The word in a sense derived from the Venetian quote "Lista" which means the wide and rectilinear road, such as "Liston de Piazza",the Piazza San Marco in Venice, while the prevailing theory, only those included in the Libro d'Oro could walk here. The cafeterias and restaurants of Liston is now the meeting place for most residents and visitors.

Greek Orthodox church. Most famous in Corfu. Its bell tower is the highest spot of the town. The locals have deep faith in Saint Spyridon, who is considered the keeper of Corfu. Inside the church, which is located just behind Liston, there are the remains of the saint. According to the local customs, his remains are carried around the town of Corfu in a very peaceful litany four times a year to celebrate his miracles (Palm Sunday, Good Friday, August 11th, first Sunday of November). The litanies are accompanied by the local bands and they remain a strong tradition on Corfu. It is worth to notice the famous "Sky", the roof of the temple, which is divided into 17 parts with gold frames.

The location of Kanoni with the church of Panagia Vlacherna below and the Mouse Island (Pontikonissi) are the most famous and photographed spots of Corfu. Kanoni is just a couple of km from the city centre. It took its name from an old cannon that stands on top of the hill. Some steps go down the hill from Kanoni and you reach the church of Panagia Vlacherna. Fishing boats depart frequently from the church and go to the legendary Mouse Island. This lush green island took this name due to its tiny size. On top of the hill in Kanoni, there are two cafeterias with amazing view to the Mouse Island. It is also very frequent that you see an airplane landing and taking off from this spot.

One of Corfu’s true natural wonders features fascinating rock formations and secluded coves surrounded by the idyllic waters of the Ionian Sea. According to the tradition couples who swim through the narrow canal will get married soon. Walk across the top of the rocks for an alternative view and excellent photography opportunities. Here you’ll also find ample space to sunbathe or enjoy a scenic picnic. Watch as locals jump from the rocks into the enticing water below. The seabed has uneven rocks, so jumping is not recommended for visitors unfamiliar with the hazards. The beach is not recommended when it is windy.

Exciting alternative is by walking downhill through a narrow path with wonderful vegetation. The Bosketo of Durrell - which in Italian means little grove Bosketo - located next to the entrance of the Old Fortress. Smothered in plants and flowers, contains busts and statues of writers and philhellenes who lived on the island, two small cisterns with goldfish, stone pavilions for rest and playground for children. It is said that Queen Sissi did walk countless hours there and spent long afternoons.
If Corfu is the ‘Garden Isle’, then Afionas is its ‘Garden Village’. Afionas to Porto Timoni: Walk to the end of the Village of Afionas, pass the viewpoint with the wooden benches and follow the path on the left down the hill to the 2 Bays.

The ecosystem of Erimitis is situated along the coastline of Sinies in the municipality of Kassiopi which is found on the North-East coast of Corfu. This area is known for its beauty and great environmental importance. Its dense vegetation, crystal clear beaches and three lakes, merge as one not only to create a unique location but also one of the few unspoilt areas still remaining. Different hues of green and blue, smells of different herbs and the sea, accompany the visitor who is looking for a more meaningful and different kind of visit to our island.

A small park, a green space next to the Palace, on the edge of the Old Town, in Spianada. The excellent view of the sea from the Garden of Peace and the tranquility and relaxation that it offers make it especially tempting for those who want to finish there strolling in the old town. Hospitable benches and natural tree shades.

Glyfada is one of the most beautiful Corfu beaches, a long sandy stretch in western Corfu with a hill full of olives and cypress trees. Looking over the sea to the south you can see Italy, if the atmosphere is clean.

The distance that separates it from the city of Corfu is about 30 km, but it is worth visiting. The area took its name from the small River Gardena that flows into the sea and separates it from the two. It is covered exclusively by sand that is whiter than that of the neighboring beaches, usually the waters are calm and shallow so that it is safe for families with children. At Gardena beach there are umbrellas and deck chairs that are rented around 5 euros a day, there are showers, as well as a variety of restaurants and taverns on the coast. Walking on the coast to the south we pass on the equally beautiful beach of Megali Lakka.

Barbati, a location 12 kilometers from Corfu, was until recently a rocky beach, loved by the Corfiots who came to the picnic in the olive groves on weekends, but now it has turned into a lively resort, very popular for holidaymakers. It is a fairly small location, easy for visitors to get to know the whole during their stay, and try most of the taverns and bars along the road. The beach has pebbles mostly with crystal and rather cold water, deepening, so it is a place for good swimmers.

Very long sandy beach, offering water sports and many entertainment options at the bars and tavernas along its entire length. Above the beach at the northern end is the Balloon with a wonderful view over the coastline, from here you see the sun sinking into the sea. Explore the old village of Sinarades, with its exceptional folklore museum, you can also walk to the villages of Kato Garouna and Penteli, from which you have a view of the bay from the south end.

Kalami is the village where Lawrence Durrell lived in the 1930s, has evolved into a small resort with many taverns, one of which is in the house where Durrell lived, the white house as it is called. It is a beautiful bay with pretty deep waters.

With stunning views of central Corfu from the top of the hill, it is said to be Kaiser Wilhelm's favorite spot of the 2nd, it was his observatory, coming here from a path leading up to the Achilles palace in Gastouri. From here you can see the city of Corfu, the bay of Gouvia and the coast to Nissaki opposite, while the green meadows of the valley of Ropa are in the foreground. The best time is in the afternoon to enjoy the view of the sunset when the hills are painted in different shades of purple while the sun sinks into the sea.
