Good way to see the whole Golden Gate park in one day, ride along the ocean to many viewing spots of the Golden Gate bridge, travel through some nice neighborhoods and shopping areas. You can go anywhere. Very easy to get around quickly and see lots of things.

An art museum with very diverse collections. It has a reputation for excellent costume collections.
What's very cool is the observation tower, a spectacular glass-walled space on the 9th floor with 360 degree panoramic views of San Francisco. It's in the same building but with free access, no ticket needed. This one is a "must".

If you have extra time this should be on your list of things to see in Golden Gate Park. This Bison range is visible from the road. Although not as close as Yellowstone, the views of the animals are cool. Touching or feeding is not allowed.
Parking is available on the street.

Entertainment & Activities
Stow Lake is a hidden San Francisco treasure. Located in the middle of Golden Gate Park, Stow Lake is home to beautiful birds, turtles, and fish. The best part is that you can experience the wildlife up close and personal on boat. Super reasonably priced, you can rent a paddle boat or a row boat and make your way around the loop. Almost always, you will see turtles which is the highlight of my experience for sure. They have life vests for kids and a picnic area for people to hang out at.
