FUNKY GOURMET, Creative greek cuisine.Another excellent year for Georgianna Hiliadakis, Nikos Roussos and their team at the restaurant of Kerameikos, which has a sense of secret rendezvous or some kind of initiation, since you have to ring the bell of a closed door to enter. Original sequences of dishes with Greek nuances and a theatrical character, superior technique, imagination and taste in three wonderful, playful menus, which stimulate the senses and the mind, alternating complex conceptual compositions and minimalist masterpieces. Top dish: Snails, earthy flavors, with black truffle, mushrooms, barley and cappuccino leaves. Two Toque d'Or awards for 2016

The old printing house at 18 Kodratou Street in Metaxourgeio has now become a tavern and offers unique flavors of Greek cuisine from Andreas Evtaxis who has carefully created the menu with a few but selected dishes that make the difference. The space has been preserved almost as it was in the past with small variations to serve its purpose better but also to be tied to its past that reminds of the old Athens. The food is of high quality, with many of the products being bought daily from small Greek producers, so that they are fresh and of high quality. Tomato meatballs, typographer's nest, veal liver, tenderloin, grilled sardines, marinated anchovies, handmade pasta with apaki and cherry tomatoes, smoked steak with pineapple are some of the flavors you can enjoy daily but there is also fresh fish of the day P.S Is only 15 meters from the apartments APARTATHENS.

The theatre was originally founded in 1880 as Royal Theatre, with a grant from King George I and Efstratios Rallis to give theatre a permanent home in Athenoreinfo:s. The foundations for this new project were laid on Agiou Konstantinou Street and the building itself was designed by the famous Saxonian architect noted for many other public buildings in Athens at the time, Ernst Ziller. Despite problems getting the building done in time, it was eventually completed in the late 1890s and in 1900 Angelos Vlachos was appointed as the Director. more info:http://www.n-t.gr/en/home/ NATIONAL THEATRE OF GREECE 22-24 Agiou Konstantinou St 104.37 Athens Tel.: +30 210 5288100

The Academy of Athens forms part of the so-called "Neoclassical Trilogy" of the City of Athens: Academy - University - Library. It consists of aesthetically distinct parts that form a harmonic ensemble of built mass. A corridor connects the two lateral wings to the main body of the building, which -in its proportions of line and mass- is set-off by its Ionian-style entrance and its big pediment. The entrance has elements originating from the eastern side of Erechtheion, on Acropolis. The predominant material on the facets is marble. Overall, the building is a characteristic example of mature Neoclassicism.

Getting Around

Athens Railway Station (Greek: Sidirodromikós Stathmós Athinón) is the main railway station of Athens, the capital city of Greece. It is located in the central quarter of Kolonos. It resulted from the merger of the city's two main railway terminals, the Larissa Station of the Piraeus–Platy railway line towards central and northern Greece, and of the Peloponnese Station (Greek:Stathmós Peloponnísou) of the Piraeus–Patras railway line linking Athens with the southern Peloponnese peninsula. The station is still colloquially known as "Larissa Station", which is also the name of a Metro station there.

Karaiskaki Square may be in a central location inside Athens but it is not as noisy as Omonia or Syntagma Square. It does have a metro station and many great hotels are found there while tourists seem to like the location because it is both central but yet not so crowded and noisy. At a walking distance you will find Larissis station which can lead you to different cities of Greece by train or even abroad.
