Great local bar -has really good tapas / small plates of food. An older group of people but well regarded and is around 15 minutes walk.
They have a cafe as well for breakfast and brunch ( next door ).

Fabulous food and coffee - sit outside or in and people watch. Just 5 minutes walk from mine. Great service - good for breakfast and lunch. Vegan and gluten free options.

See below regarding the one in Remuera. The one on my corner is the original and has really good coffee, pastries, healthy takeaway breakfast , lunch and dinner options. You can relax there for breakfast/ coffee and lunch. The made fresh daily meals change each day and can be bought frozen or fresh and are great heated up in the microwave, Ideal to grab a latte or long black on your way out for the day or bring back home - its only 1 minute away:)

An old waterfront area that has had a makeover .It is around 30 minutes walk from mine -you amble along the waterfront to reach this enclave of cafes and bars on the water just 5 mins from the city.

Another favourite of mine made famous in the 80s by U2.it is set in Cornwall Park - a magnificent public park for walking or running or picnicking in . Peaceful & uplifting and safe year round :)

Parks & Nature
I love this beautiful large green park. It has sheep and cattle and large green spaces with huge old trees dotted about and it is in the middle of Auckland. It is a working farm and in the center is One Tree Hill ( the song by U2 is about this) You can walk, run , cycle or drive around the park and up the hill for spectacular 360 degree views of the city and harbours. There are areas to have BBQ'S - there are 2 cafes and lots to look at. It is safe and really uplifting.

It is in the center of another lovely Auckland park called Auckland Domain and sitting in the center on a gentle hill is our Museum with our war memorial outside. Lovely views and it is a peaceful haven of permanent and visiting exhibits and history. Love it here.It is on the bus route from my place.
