The Arthur’s Seat Eagle is a state-of-the-art gondola, which within you fly over the state forest to the highest point of the beautiful Mornington Peninsula. As you do so, you are looking at the breathtaking view across the bay to the city and spotting wildlife as you soar high above the trees. The gondolas let you enjoy an Eagle's view in the safety and comfort of a contemporary gondola cabin as you travel between the Base Station in Dromana to the Summit Station at the top of Arthurs Seat. You can choose to board at either station. While you are visiting, you can also grab a snack or enjoy a meal in the Eagle Café, or stretch your legs on one of the many walking trails.

With Moonraker you have an incredible 3-hour snorkel adventure with local Bottlenose Dolphins, you swim alongside cheeky Australian Fur Seals (which are like dogs!) and you get to explore underwater marine parks filled with colourful fish. Or if getting in the water up close and personal is not your thing, you can embark on a private luxury adventure aboard the Moonraker, where you can see the very best of Port Phillip Bay and wild dolphins swimming alongside, just meters away from the Australian Fur Seals. My favourite (non-wine) horse-riding tour is with Gunnamatta Trail Rides. The horses are extremely well kept and maintained, very gentle and the scenery along the beach is breathtaking – as is the canter along the beach if you are competent enough. One of my other favourite things to do is make sure you get to the Peninsula Hot Springs after so that you are not sore for a week! Gunnamatta have special deals going for this.

Eagle Ridge is a Mornington Peninsula favourite, located in The Cups region and known for its heavily featured layout and superb hospitality. A resort-style championship course rewards accuracy and caters for all handicaps, with waterfalls, ornamental lakes, cart paths and bunkering set in an ideal golf landscape. A major enhancement project over the 2007/08 summer saw all fairways replaced with Santa Ana couch, tee area landscaping and levelling, and re-design work. After completion of works in one summer, Eagle Ridge has reopened with substantially reduced water needs, adding to its green credentials.

Founded over 100 years ago, the Flinders Golf Club remains one of the most scenic and accessible golf courses on the Mornington Peninsula. Built along a stunning stretch of cliff-top land overlooking Bass Strait & Western Port Bays, The Flinders Golf Club welcomes members and visitors 7 days with the Pro Shop open from dawn ’til dusk. The course stands out as you drive the Mornington Freeway due to the hundreds of mature palm trees adorning the course. Casual and dedicated golfers alike get that friendly attention that is a hallmark of this club, and being relatively flat, it’s also friendly on the legs. Don’t let the Par fool you. This course has many challenges that will cause you to think carefully about your club selection. The lush green fairways and well maintained greens, amongst the best on the Peninsula, offer all levels of golfer a round that will inspire them to return to “beat the course” After your game enjoy a convivial drink in the clubhouse. Fine dining experience can be had at the Atrium Restaurant.

Sorrento Golf Club is a club that enjoys a special reputation within Victoria as one of the premier courses. The course is beautifully presented with groomed greens and couch fairways always providing plenty of challenge for golfers of all standards. The summer holiday season is very busy on the Mornington Peninsula and especially at Sorrento, however at other times guests will find that there is plenty of opportunity to reserve a time for a mid week or Sunday afternoon round. The Professional Shop has everything a golfer could need: tuition, hire clubs, clothing and equipment. A number of motorised golf carts are available to make 18 holes a little less demanding. This walk is very close to the villa, and has beautiful boardwalk and walking tracks which run through bushland along the south bank, from the estuary to the Nepean Highway, with two bridges to the north bank creating a circuit. At the highway, the track connects with walking tracks in The Briars Park. I love running on this boardwalk track – because it’s so kind on the joints and knees. Start/Finish: Starts and finishes at the Balcombe Creek Car Park on the Esplanade. Distance: 2.5 kmTime to Complete: 1-2 hours
