The Leadville fish hatchery is the second oldest Federally operated fish hatchery. They allow the public to come by and take a look at the processes of fish hatcheries, as well as feed the rainbow trout! Sometimes they'll even jump out of the water. Such fun, especially for younger children!

Colorado Traction Laws
Being up @ 10,200, its important to understand that you will get snow and ice, which can build up quickly on the roads. Colorado maintains a "Traction Law" which is defined as "requires motorists to have either snow tires, tires with the mud/snow (M+S) designation, or a four-wheel/all-wheel-drive vehicle. All tires must now have a minimum of three-sixteenths inch tread."
Remember, it is ILLEGAL to not follow this, and most of all, DANGEROUS! It is our responsibility to make sure everyone on the road is safe!

Colorado has had Recreational Marijuana for some time now, but don't think that we are all stoner without a care in the world. Truth is, we care about you, and we care about safe use!
1. You must be 21 to buy.
2. It is a felony to give, share or use with anyone under 21.
3. You can only buy from licensed retail stores.
4. You may have up to 1 oz, anything more you may face fines.
5. Public use is ILLEGAL. That includes on the lift and in the alleys, and even in the forest dudes!
Now is also a good time to remind you that we do not allow smoking in our rentals. Need more info

Feeling Sick? That's the altitude hitting you.
When I first moved here, I also felt sick, and it's very common. So much so, that you'll see oxygen everywhere you look.
Wanna know a common misconception? We have the same amount of O2 up here as down there, but the air pressure is thinner, which is why it's harder to breathe. Your lungs have to work twice as much to get the same amount. Here's a few suggestions:
1. Drink plenty of water, you lose it through respiration!
2. Increase carbohydrate intake, your body needs the energy.
3. Don't be afraid to slow down, and sit down. Take a rest!

In the words of our Divine Queen Chris Crocker, LEAVE THE WILDLIFE ALONEEEE!!!
Heres a couple quick tips:
1. They are called Wild Animals for a reason, and are understandably unpredictable and untrained. Even casually approaching them can make them feel threatened and cause them to retaliate.
2. Don't harass them either. A picture is worth a thousand words, but is it worth a thousand dollar fine, or jail time? There's things bigger than moose in jail you know...
3. Why are you feeding them? Processed human foods kill us slowly, and we're like, really big. He doesn't want ur snickers.

Only You Can Prevent Forest Fires (Fire Restrictions)
In Colorado, we have a system that determines fire risk for our state. During dry summers, you'll see these stages on many Freeway signs dependent on which county you are in. Please do not take these lightly, you'll burn the state down, aaahhhh!
