Come to Ottawa for Winterlude in February and skate join locals and tourists from around the world to skate the canal. Don't worry if you don't have skates, there are several skate rentals on the canal. If skating isn't your thing, you can walk or pull the kids on a sled, grab a hot chocolate or a Beaver Tail a local treat you can't miss.
From our place you can access the canal from Bank Street (near Landsdowne) or Dows Lake. 20 min walk / 10 min drive
