I love walking and running at Pedieos Linear Park. The park consists of a 14km path along the Pedieos river which starts from Lakatamia and goes all the way down town to Nicosia.

A natural reserve oasis next to the Pedieos river in Lakatamia. The lake hosts different kinds of fish, crayfish, water-plants, and is home for many protected endemic and migratory bird species. The lake is normally filled with water during the winter, but water level is low to dry during the summer months, depending on the annual rain levels.

South west of the capital and about a 28 km drive out towards the village of Mitsero, you’ll come across the old copper mine of Mitsero, which operated between 1953 and 1966. And once you get to the area, you’ll be taken aback by the ‘acid lake’, seeping up minerals and ore which turn it red. Do not touch the water under any circumstances! But do take as many pictures as you can!

Some say it looks like a Harry Potter Castle. Situated on the top of the hill, entrance to the monastery is only allowed to men who are properly dressed. If you're wearing shorts they'll give you a pair of longer trousers to wear. The view is stunning!

Located within close proximity of one another are the cobbled square, old stone-built houses, local wineries, a Medieval wine press and the monastery of Timios Stavros (Holy Cross), with its old icons and impressive woodcarvings. Every September 14, the village holds one of the biggest religious fairs on the island, dedicated to the Holy Cross. The celebration lasts for three days, and vendors gather in the beautiful square in front of the monastery to sell their wares. The square is also the scene of many other events during the summer and Easter.

Lefkara is where the Cypriot folk needlecraft art is born - the famous “lefkaritiko” - which the reputation of has gone beyond the frontiers of Cyprus and has become known in most of the European countries but not only there. Lefkara owes its welfare and prosperity as always spotted to this needlecraft art and to its trade launched in the late 19th century, flourishing during the 20th century first thirty years. The village is situated at the foot of the Troodos Mountains in the south eastern region, 650m above sea level, 45 km from Nicosia, 30 km from the Larnaca airport and just 12 km from the Nicosia – Limassol highway.

Lefkara is where the Cypriot folk needlecraft art is born - the famous “lefkaritiko” - which the reputation of has gone beyond the frontiers of Cyprus and has become known in most of the European countries but not only there. Lefkara owes its welfare and prosperity as always spotted to this needlecraft art and to its trade launched in the late 19th century, flourishing during the 20th century first thirty years. The village is situated at the foot of the Troodos Mountains in the south eastern region, 650m above sea level, 45 km from Nicosia, 30 km from the Larnaca airport and just 12 km from the Nicosia – Limassol highway.
Xyliatos is a village of the Lefkosia District. It is built 50 kilometres southwest of the capital city of Lefkosia, on a mean altitude of 515 metres. Many visit Xyliatos to enjoy the peace and beauty of the dam and the hiking trail located in the hug of a green mountain, which is reflected on the crystal water of the dam, creating a scenic imagery.

After spending most of the 1990s being restored, the inn has been revived as a thriving arts centre, consisting of several galleries and workshops. There are also several courtyard cafes and souvenir shops. It is located in the occupied part of Nicosia close to the Ledra street border crossing.
